'How Low?' by Copper Kites

Dancing On The Graves was written and produced during 2009 by Carl Graves, Ben Wallis and Rat Crook. It doesn't celebrate the death of anyone. It continues on the theme of consumerist social comment and cultural observation that was started intheir original band The Herb Garden and continued ever since. This is of course what any band does!

Since 2001 CB and BW and RC have explored different iterations of this rock formula, and more, in many works produced at their 'Mattress Factory' studio  or through projects such as Faster Muttley, Sons of Muttley, and the latest, Copper Kites. More soon. Meanwhile, the Lyrics to the song:

So why do we live as strangers to ourselves?
Stumbling in the dark, blindfolded with our hands behind our back.
And ignorance a shield, and arrogance a sword
Ignore experience and forget about about the past.

Yet all of the reading and all of the writing
And all of the speaking is Dancing on the Graves

So what we are: ancient translated tongues
A conduit through which many dead people talk

'Dancing On The Graves' by Copper Kites

Uncontrolled Borders (UB) is a music stable (or 'label'). Crossing our rather unkempt and untidy boundaries are some of the friends and relatives of Bristol's The Herb Garden (HG), a band of absurdist punks on 'raver fuel' who first made themselves known in Bristol, UK in 1987. But UB offers new stuff too!

On UB you'll find songs and toons from Copper Kites (CK) - fronted by Gardenists Carl Graves, Ben Wallis and Rat Crook. The CK project continues where HG's musical and lyrical journey pulled up and tackles themes of absurdity and the common cultural condition.

Since 2001 the core trio of Carl, Ben and Rat have explored different iterations of the rock formula (and beyond) in many works produced at their 'Mattress Factory' studio  or through projects such as Faster Muttley, Sons of Muttley, and Copper Kites, to name three. We'll post more 'side-tracks' from UB here. And Copper Kites will be one act on the roster that will spread its wings.  Expect a degree of guano. But guano is a prized product!
