Guiseppe Gennarini states that the property of the Redemptoris Mater Seminary was "assigned" to the non-profit corporation of the Redemptoris Mater Seminary "in order to protect the estate of the Archdiocese in case there is a law suit."  

He says that it was the Archbishop's initiative, and that he had no role in the transfer.  He also says that it was the idea of the Archbishop's legal counsel, Ed Terlaje.

By the way, what law suit did he have in mind?
