It’s all about the music first and foremost. Play what excites you and remember everyone has their own journey - patience is key.

About the mix:
I recorded this mix on a beautiful spring afternoon, which at the moment is rare for London as we’ve been deprived of any sun recently! I roughly sketched it out and then pressed play on the first track, beginning the recording as the sun was setting and by the time i finished it was dark outside. I was fully in my own world when recording this and it felt good to take things a bit deeper and have those emotional moments, with tracks such as Roman Flugal’s Lucy, which for me is such a beautiful song and Hollis P Monroe’s ‘I’m Lonely’ which is one of my all time favourite tracks. The mix is a real groover with some trippy moments, it ramps up, but never fully smashes through the front door.

Making use of analog sound treatments, found sounds, and solo piano compositions, Sontag Shogun depicts abstract locations and delicate structures within distant, shared memories. In tonality and design, "Patterns for Resonant Space" soundtracks a solitary journey through old photographs, building and deconstructing each composition in tandem with each narrative.

From the high holidays of She-aster in the spring and Pride in October, to local mainstays Deep South and Church @ Sister Louisa's, Vicki is a party starter and community builder. As a mentor, she has given birth to up and comers whose voices travel near and far. Behind the decks she is a powerhouse, making the children raise their hands to gospel house in church and lose their minds by the pool at GHT. Vicki Powell is the one who taught us to fuck fear, the rave mom we all crave but don't deserve, and we are so glad she is here.
