Kanye West may be the most polarizing figure in hip hop. Some people hate him. Okay, most people hate him. I, however, am a devout Kanye fan. No matter his antics, I forgive him. On this episode I discuss why. It comes from some of my own experiences in my attempt to gain popularity as a hip hop artist and the few instances where I got a glimmer of what that might be like - and how it connects to Kanye.

I also share my thoughts on Rock and culture Critic, Chuck Klusterman's book "Eating the Dinosaur." Somehow, I manage to tie it into Kanye West and even throw in a little Dave Chappelle wisdom just because I can.

Episode 4, Part 1 - Kanye West & Being/Becoming Famous

In my first attempt at an extended interview, I talk with Isaac Meek who built a studio in the back of his mothers house and has created a small North Seattle Hip Hop "empire". Isaac was also a big part in my own music career as well as countless others in the Seattle hip hop scene. 

While the conversation revolves around hip hop and Isaac's history, we talk everything from Kanye West and fame to race in Seattle to Macklemore's influence on the scene and music in general and what he thinks white rappers need to do even though he owns what is sometimes considered a "white run" studio. 

In short, Isaac is not afraid to say what he thinks and I fucking love him for that. We may piss you off. We may say some things you like but I bet you we will likely make you laugh. Give it a listen, I'm sure you'll enjoy.
