Hamlet's Mill [disquiet0554] intermezzo

This is the final experiment I'm going to do using an Audacity cut up from the piano improvisation I did a few weeks back (thanks @stellato-strings for use of your lovely piano), and I'm still playing around with seeing what sounds I can maximise from the Garageband presets.

This lovely haiku by Taylor Wray led me towards the Phrygian mode. My improvisation, in E Phrygian, is played on Babylon VST synth. Recorded and mixed in Reaper, with Frostbite2 added. Mastered with CloudBounce.

Craig Lincoln is a poet who enjoys the challenge of writing in many forms of poetry. He is the author of two poetry collections: A Mind’s Eye View Come Talk With Me, and Dance Macabre.

His poems have been featured in writing magazines such as The Curious Record, Scope Magazine, Readers Carnival, and on various poetry sites he is a member of. He has also been featured in poetry anthology collections such as Change of Scenery, They Shall Not Grow Old, Northern Lights and Brio.

“Purgatory Song” is based on a voice improvisation, which I recorded years ago for a collaboration with South African musician and visual artist Garth Erasmus, but never used. Later I added some sounds of a prepared piano, as an ironically broken allusion to the romantic “Kunstlied”. Much later I processed these elements together with electronic sounds to create the Purgatory Song.

A new test with the latest developments in the NOISE/VCF and LFO modules of Heritage Modular polyphonic synth.
Created with four LFO modules that modulate various parameters: VCF frequency, resonance, noise color, and amplitude.
Plus some live manipulations on certain knobs.
At the output, the MULTI-FX module in Zita reverb mode.
Played on eight independent voices, so with 8x NOISE and 32x LFO.
It's a palindrome; I layered two tracks: the original and the reversed copy.
