REMASTER from an old analog mixtape for the '8AM Side' of my second mix tape DESERT FUNK, best copy we could find!  This side gives a nice window into some of the post sunrise, early morning  Moontribe vibes back in the early days. All vinyl like the 2AM, and a little rough around the edges mix-wise as well, this side features only 5 tracks but I had a lot of fun mixing them together and stretching out that first mix. Thanks to all of you sunrise lovers in the desert that inspired this side! Thanks again to Scott Cattanach for the fresh, original cover art, Ken Lawrence of Pure Acid Mixtapes for helping me spread the word, Moontribe for giving me a chance, LA DJ godfathers like Doc Martin, Steve Loria, and DJ Dan for their help and guidance, all the fans and promoters for their support, and of course the fabulous, rockin' artists who provide the music for this sonic journey.

Today we gladly, and with much pride, present to you our 17th guest for the series: Ed The Spread. We've been a huge fan of his music, so it's a pleasure to share his with you. 

Here we have a man from Cardiff on top of his game, especially when it comes to music. Has been a producer of quality House tracks since 2015, frequently worked with labels like Reason 2 Funk, Frosted Recordings, Cabbie Hat Recordings, Good For You Records, Fogbank, Guesthouse, Drop Music,... and a plethora more. He has a very distinguished sound which explores the boundaries of creativity and has very interesting arrangements, while making sure your boogie needs are well met. 
He's send us a wonderful live recording from last month's gig at the Vulcan Lounge in Cardiff. Get ready for 3 hours and 20 mins of awesome House music !

Homemade House 17 - Ed The Spread

Like so many artists, we discovered @hennaonna 's music for the first time on David Nichols' @closertotruth label — her gorgeous and sophisticated Midori no Basho EP, released just over a year ago. Based in Yerevan, Armenia, Henna has also released stand-out tracks on labels including Nite Grooves, Kindisch, Lisztomania and more.

Though impressed by her productions, we never heard her DJ. And then we heard her mix, and we were sold on it. Henna has a dope sound — that deep and warm deep house vibe that fits so well with our Sanctify mix series.
