Many of these maxims are taken directly from the Qur’aan or from hadith of the Prophet sall Allahu ‘alaihi wa sallam. This subject is very important for both the mujtahid and for the layman. This is because it allows the mujtahid to derive rulings regardless of whether or not there is text present. As for the layman, it helps him to appreciate the aims of the Shari’ah and the way in which the scholars of the past have helped preserve the deen.

Thalaathatul-Usool (The Three Fundamental Principles) is one of the famous works of al Imaam Muhammad bin ‘Abdil-Wahhaab (may Allah have mercy on him). Without doubt The three fundamental principles of islam are amongst the most important matters that every person will be asked about; 
‘Who is your Lord?’, 
‘What is your religion?’ and 
‘Who is your Prophet?’.

So its obligatory upon mankind to know its proofs and making it a study until we reach our next abode, the Grave.

It is one of the Islamic works that is most studied and taught throughout the world. In fact, many of the scholars recommend the students of knowledge to begin their path of learning by studying and mastering this book. The reason for this is because it was written by the author in a simple manner and comprising of the basic fundamentals of this Religion in brief.
