Once the former Royal Scientist's assisant, Alphys works for an Underground version of the FBI called "P.U.N", which was put together after the Royal Guard was disbanded. She's a detective that uses Gadgets to protect herself, hence why she is also a little more confident, not in terms of self esteem, but in her ability to attack and protect herself. Guess you could consider her a combo of Doc Ock and Inspector Gadget.

hello and yello everyone, i'm cereal!! apologies if the slightly moninous title and fallen down (WHICH WAS BY TOBY FOX ON TUMBLR, LIKE, WHAT????) had you all worried. it's nothing like that! i heavily suggest you all read through this, and if not, then don't worry. a tl;dr will be at the very end.
ahem.... it's been a while, haha. anyway, i have come with a special letter!

salt & pepper underswap is getting a reboot! i'll give you a reason as to why. a comment, very recent, was made and it pointed out at how this take sucked. i knew it was slightly bait, but it really did make something in me reevaluate how i looked at this au. they pointed out at how the designs were boring, had the same personalities without any uniqueness, and was sloppy. i agree with most of these points. i did not try my full best to make this truly unique, and i apologize! so that's why i'm doing a reboot.

this reboot will be vastly different though. it'll be swapping EVERYTHING, (ie. something like temmieswap, man i still miss that take :c) using a lot more polish than before, and taking feedback from YOU. yeah, YOU! if you want, you can post what you disliked or liked from this take and some feedback! it sounds sorta fishy, but i want to make a take that i can fully be proud in along with everybody in the audience. you all make this what it is, and seeing it from other people's lenses could greatly help us, especially me!! ^_^
if any clarifying or whatever is need then i'll answer in comments!!

UPDATE TIME (1/11/2025)
hi guys, its me again!! this will probably be the only update i will provide atm, but maybe that'll change :p
i've read all your responses, and tried my best to reply to most of them. i took in everything and i considered all of the things said, so hopefully it improves this au a lot more ^_^
anyway i'd like to thank you all for the supportive words and whatnot, so i'll get straight into the progress of the reboot:
a majority of the writing and characters have been heavily changed, and so far, it's looking great thanks to a new team member :3 the visuals have also changed drastically, being detailed (not to a super drastic degree) and generally being happier with the result! the music, well, there's two things going on with it: nothing has been done yet because, obviously, writing hasn't been finalized, but eventually we'll get there. the second thing is that we will not be doing any more motif copy in the songs, so it'll most likely original compositions! another big thing is that this au will get another name... sorta. it won't entirely be a rebrand, but it'll be the in-universe name, in a sense.
another another big thing..... erm.. the cast themselves >_> we're going in a very unconventional way, but not in terms with the swaps. you'll see what we mean when we get this sucker out..... WHO KNOWS WHEN!

ANYWAY YEAH!! i hope you enjoyed a bit of insight & stuff (even if most wont see this!), i really appreciated all of your guy's help in this. when the reboot is finished then i hope you enjoy what we've been cooking up :3

Really weird Undertale bug I encountered before New Home. I don't mind it, I've played this game enough to want anything new, and this is giving me something promising. Will update frequently.
