“This mix is the excuse for all the postcards we missed to write during various trips to Napoli. At our first arrival at 6am on some mid-september day back in 2017 we were instantly absorbed by the seething city with it’s narrow alleys and rough but passionate citizens. Of course we came across some Neapolitan records before but only through witnessing the pulse of the city we finally lost our hearts to the sweetness and pathos of Canzone. After various trips to Napoli and Sicily and thanks to the great tips of lovely people like Florian, Daniele and Massimo we finally managed to put this mix together. And we hope you enjoy it.”

5 track downtempo Balearic house EP by Ex Spiral tribe member Lol Hammond's studio project Wah Wah Planet from 1990 along side Russell Crone featuring female vocals by Lucy Sian. Serving as a pioneering early example of UK Street Soul. A side explores the romantic theme brought to the table by the lyrics in a more pop/radio edit oriented manner whereas the B-side takes things down a more leftfield route with 3 different excursions in early 90's smooth Balearics ranging from early breaky/triphop nuances to elements borrowing from dancehall music. Including a previously unreleased mix found deep in Lol's master tapes.

"El Hit de la Medianoche" is a project that aims to recover the Peruvian musical legacy, collecting treasures across different regions in Peru since 2000, restoring records, digitalizing tracks and archiving hits, and doing pirate FM radio presentations. 

For this episode, the mystery mind behind "Hit de la Medianoche" made a deep dig into his collection and has dusted of a vinyl-only selection of danceable records, preparing a medley-style mix of previously unheard psych funk, soul, disco, and different styles and crossovers of latin music across different decades from Peru, called "El Paraíso del Boogie".
