An idea born between the underground of London and the dance floors of Berlin, UNDERTHESEA is a concept series combining vinyl releases with club nights. Hailing from Barcelona, Gregori Menendez (aka Grego After All) found an interest in the crashing waves between house and techno. Influenced by these vibrations, he craves to push the boundaries of electronic music, to encourage up and coming acts with the support of established artists to build up a talented network and an output of quality.

The connection between the Mediterranean and Caribbean Sea brought X-Coast and the label together to drop the first episode of UNDERTHESEA. The New York-based artist delivers three fresh original cuts complemented with a remix by Berlin’s versatile talent Borrowed Identity. The EP presents equal parts of groove and energy characterised by X-Coast´s 90’s rave inspirations with a pulsating swell combined with seductive female vocals just like a mermaid’s allure. On the flip-side, Borrowed Identity illustrates his stripped down rhythms for a well-rounded 12-inch.

Continuing its party series, UNDERTHESEA is hosting two showcases in August to represent the vibe of the project. First in Berlin’s Schwuz on August 3rd and in Barcelona’s Razzmatazz on August 18th with more to be confirmed.

Keep an eye on the sea, you never know what’s underneath.
