iBreaks reaches it's 60th release, a hefty two-track single from Latvia's finest Under This.

First up is "The Drops" which starts out with a distinct disco flavour with subtle rhythm guitar-esque licks and wavy synths before dropping in with a driving kick, snare and cowbell combo alongside a buzzing sawtooth bassline. A minimal vocal line makes way for some lush synth action towards the mid section, leading to a huge breakdown and even bigger drop!

Bringing up the rear is Enigma, kicking off strongly with pounding beats whilst atmospheric pads and swirls loom above. A dirty gnarled synth bassline sits under a female vocal, and in true Under This style some serious screaming synths are perfectly complemented by a sweeter melodic bleep section. This has festival system written all over it, so make the most of it while you can!

Our 65th release comes from Latvian trio Under This with a two track single showcasing the different sides of their production skills.

Leading off the single is Room To Breathe, a low tempo / high energy track featuring the vocal MC talents of BBK. Their Chemical Brothers and Prodigy influences can be heard on this one especially. Hard hitting beats are matched by distorted guitar-esque synths that gives a truly live band feel, while BBK’s flow sits perfectly overhead. This is perfect summer festival fodder!

Upping the tempo, Ejection keeps the trademark Under This epic feel with a cinematic string-led intro that launches into a searing breakbeat aural assault. The growling bassline rolls under some rough analogue synth work with perfect big system builds abad drops. File under “peak time banger”.

As we edge closer to our 10 year Anniversary, we're upping the ante with an absolute blinder of a two-track release from Under This.

"Battlefield" kick things off with instant energy from a big rolling break while atmospheric synths create some tension. A deep pulsing bassline rolls throughout while the halfway point sees the introduction of some video game-esque scorching synth lead work. Pure dance floor heat!

"Olympus" brings up the rear with Under This in a tech-funk mood. The kick and snare provide the pump and snap, while side-chained synths take care of the bottom end. A massive switch in the beats alongside a lead line that could easily have been an 80s TV theme tune, keep strings interesting. In fact you're kept continually guessing which direction you're being taken in throughout that track, right to the bitter end.

We're back with the boys from Latvia for our 73rd iBreaks release. Under This give us a double A-side showing two different sides of their production stylings.

"Let Yourself Go" leads the way, and there's no messing about - it's straight in with a big rolling breakbeat, a throbbing low end bassline, and a pulsing, growling, metallic synth that really sets the tone of what to expect. A switch up in the bassline after the halfway point raises the energy and makes this one pure peak time.

In stark contrast, the Under This boys flex their deeper, groovier muscles on "Attraction" which is built around a Nile Rodgers flavoured guitar riff over speaker busting beats and bass. The addition of a female vocal lifts the vibe, rounding off this disco breaks tune to a tee.

Expand Records strikes again with brand new single 'Saam' which is a luxury product of cooperation of new discover in Breaks scene producer In Progress and enigmatic project Runa. Original is backed with solid remix by Under This.
'Saam' is an amazingly refreshing atmospheric Progressive Breaks track, grown from the ethnic roots of Russian saami. It starts with sounds of Barents Sea and gentle subtle chords which hypnotize you since the very first seconds. After introduction section, which is full of tight beats, deep bassline and etheric arpeggios, there appears beautiful enigmatic vocals complemented by Trancey leads and pads. Long breakdown section immerses you into cold sea waters even deeper with stunning piano line, echoed vocals and string addition. Culmination of the track brings more vocals, leads and ragged drum line, keeping the flow interesting till the bitter end.
On the flip we have Under This remix, which is focused more on the darker side of things. Brining thunderous beats and deep floating Reece bassline Under This delivers darkish yet melancholic and even euphoric track, which bound to do some damage, but will pleasantly tickle your eardrums. Original vocals add some spicy ethnic feeling and freshness, which work really well on the contrast of different sounds and moods.

Once you are inside the groove be prepare to be immersed in a musical playground accompanied by amazing vocals and synth arpeggios, that's gonna make you feel like having fun in your school days.

Latvian breaksters Under This bring the heat for iBreaks 51 alongside vocalist Goldillox.

Leading the way on this three-tracker is What I Need. A funk guitar lick floats over the driving kicks, snares and bonafide breakbeats, and there's even a sax-esque synth line for good measure, whilst some wikkid rhythmic vocal are used subtle yet effective. It's by no means falling into the "funky breaks" sound, but still retains enough funk to make you move. The bassline is made for big systems, so make sure you turn this one up LOUD!

Shine Down drops the bpms but keeps the intensity at maximum. This one's got one foot in moombahcore and the other firmly in breaks and will appeal to fans of either style. Goldillox gets to flex her full vocal talents on this one giving it a real original and epic feel.

Closing the package on a high is Yesterday which shifts the pitch control right back up with a rolling bassline and beats once again perfectly complemented with topline vocals, which are subjected to some cool cut ups as the track progresses. This one's got equal measures of attitude and musicality, making this one pure dance floor fodder.
