Here lies my closing set from this year's edition of Bass River; a friends & family style gathering taking place a couple of hours out of Melbourne over the first weekend of February. “Nebula” is the 4th track in the collaborative album, “The Percs of Being,” by the newly formed Sydney-based duo, Lunakyn. Featuring in the forthcoming debut release on Dialectic Recordings in early May, “Nebula” is a solo work by one half of Lunakyn, Christian Guidone aka Guides. From the beginning, the listener is greeted by lush, cloud-like pads and metallic textures that rapidly evolve, rise, and culminate into a thumping rhythm. Time-stretched breakbeats and gooey synth lines reverberate through the skull, mapping out an aural journey reminiscent of a particularly potent hit of acid.
