Exploring the deepest face of electronic music from ambience to techno, Salva Coromina or @mousedown_up is a regular DJ on the Barcelona scene since the late 90s. So soft and quiet hum comes from underneath, unusually so. This seemingly harmonious sound cuts short interrupted more and more with a voice that’s getting louder and louder. The voice of an infinite sea – the waves crumbling in the distance. Inaccessible to one eye, hidden in the mix of fog and night the only path to safety lies. Ceaseless bursts of light pierce through to guide you across the maze of rocks that lurk below the surface for all but a few hours at low tide. Lighthouse keeper stands guard to fare you well during your journey in the night.

Immerse yourself in the subliminal drones and fever-dream ambience of Donato Dozzy collaborator Neel. Live at Nachtdigital 2015.
For most electronic music aficionados, Neel is a name that first surfaced in 2011, when the Italian producer debuted the Voices Of The Lake project alongside production partner Donato Dozzy. In the years that followed, the Roman duo has made a splash with its cinematic, long-form techno, most notably on its self-titled 2012 debut LP and a handful of EPs for labels like Prologue, Concrete, and The Bunker New York. That being said, Neel, aka Guiseppe Tillieci, didn’t exactly come out of nowhere. Prior to Voices From The Lake, he had worked as a mastering engineer, and over the years has spruced up efforts from Dozzy, Dasha Rush, Marco Shuttle, Dorisburg, Cio D’Or, Terrence Fixmer, Mike Parker, Cassegrain, Abdulla Rashim, Varg, and others too numerous to list. In 2014, he also stepped out on his own as a producer, issuing the Mars-themed album Phobos via the Spectrum Spools label. Untethered to techno’s structural requirements, his solo work finds Tillieci exploring abstract beat patterns, ambient textures, and otherworldly, dream-like moods. For Neel, sonic exploration is a worthy pursuit in its own right, and his mastery of sound only makes his surreal journeys all the more captivating.

DJ Yazi has been active since the mid-1990s,  as a member of Tokyo’s notoriously avant-garde hip hop group called Think Tank. The record label Black Smoker Records founded by the group took their experimentalism to a series of club nights called El Nino, and DJ Yazi remains its resident for two decades. Drawing inspiration from across the musical spectrum: the mentality of hip hop, the intensity of dub and jazz, the ferocity of techno and the euphoria of house. As a DJ he moves fluidly across styles, with his sets connected by a strong focus on deep and tripped out grooves. His attention to details, precision and masterful control over the decks clearly show his long time involvement in this art form. He also performs with Haruka as Twin Peaks, an improvisational live/ DJ hybrid act. He currently hosts a regular techno/ industrial themed night called Konvektion at Contact, Tokyo together with Takaaki Itoh. After appearing in a Tokyo satellite event series New Assembly presented by Berlin Atonal in early 2017, he caught the attention of the festival directors, and made his European debut in Berlin playing Herrensauna at Tresor and Berlin Atonal 2017.

Hailing from Okinawa, now-Tokyo-based producer IORI once cut his teeth as an assistant for David Mancuso’s revered party, The Loft, in New York City, where he learnt a meticulous sonic mentality from his audiophile mentor. This permeates his carefully-handled arrangements, which have helped make his name and define a series of spacey, atmospheric originals and remixes for proponent imprints like Phonica and Prologue to name but a few.
Since his striking 2009 debut, Galaxy, which took its cue from Basic Channel and Manuel Gottsching, the Japanese producer has developed an immensely expressive dubbed-out sound in his own right. The first culmination of that is 2012’s excellent
Nexus album for Bitta, a label owned by Far Eastern rising star DJ Nobu, seeing his ambient productions sit nicely with his hypnotic dance tunes.
Two year stay in Berlin in early 2010s helped IORI gain a foothold in the international stage. He has since traveled across Europe, validating his characteristic meditative techno set, which is just the tip of his huge musical iceberg that ranges from low-slung house to leftfield oddballs. Despite his return to Japan in 2015, his presence remains strongly felt through frequent European tours.
2016 saw IORI release the Cold Radiance album, where his sci-fi ambient side grew fully- fledged. For an artist that has produced immersive and spacious pieces, it was a logical continuation of his extensive career as a producer. Eschewing the club-orientated perspective, it certainly proved IORI’s expressional depth and does justice to his artistic intention, his acute ears for spellbinding details standing out in sharp relief, which raised expectations of his promising future. His productions are 4x4 experiments of low tempo with field recordings and marked spaces, where he explores timbres, textures and cinematographic structures. He is resident at the Alpenglühen and Taiga sessions and owner of the label Antimatter together with Bule.

He is also the owner of Alpenglühen (the label) focused in deep and ambient techno which explores the thin line between light and darkness.
