Basic Rhythm returns to Raw Basics, this time with a couple of mates in tow. 
Kicking off the A side is a collaboration with long time friend Tim Reaper. The title track to the EP, Revival opens with lush pads and stepping drums, before unleashing tumbling breaks and a chest rattling sub that roll through to the breakdown and second drop, when the true chaos of the Hardcore influence is unleashed with an updated oldskool stab riff, drawing as much on early C4C tracks as from 93 Hardcore.
The second track, On The 86 (Romford Mix) opens with a dark drone and tumbling breakbeat punctuated with stabs, before letting loose the breaks and a huge bass line evocative of early ‘90s Hardcore but with a contemporary approach. This one is a dance floor smasher! This is followed by a digital only alternative version of On The 86. The (Stratford Mix) opens with airy pads and a more militant break pattern before dropping into the breakdown, drawing for some old rave stabs before unleashing the breaks and bass for a modern take on the current oldskool revival. 
Track four is a collaboration with Sully. Apache (Let The Bass Go) opens with a pitched and filtered break and pads, gradually dropping down into a “proper Hardcore riff” accentuated by scattering pitched breaks and sub bass. Wait for the switch on this one though! And watch your bass bins!
The last track, Help Me, more overtly nods to the sound of 92, with lush pads a classic vocal sample and rolling breaks. This one has a low fi edge and pure 92 Hardcore energy combined with modern production techniques. Watch this one devastate the dance floor and get the ladies raving! 
The Revival EP doesn't let up for a moment, with dance floor killers from start to finish this one needs to be in your record box!

GAB002 sees Gimme A Break Records keep things local with a rowdy EP from Leeds-based DJ and producer BEERUS. Over the last six months, BEERUS has demonstrated his production power through two bodacious releases on Gunfinger Food’s new sub-label, Booty Frooty Records. Fusing UK styles including hardcore, acid and jungle with US staples such as electro, juke and footwork, BEERUS has established a playful sound primed for the dancefloor. 

BEERUS’s “9000” EP opens with a hardcore anthem which combines rave stabs with Dragon Ball samples and an acid line threatening to spiral out of control at any given moment. “Play This Shit” sees the EP take a sensual turn as BEERUS channels the sounds of Chicago with an enticing juke number. “Booty Acid” follows suit, offering up a particularly self-explanatory track title; luscious electro meets 303s. “Love4U” is BEERUS’s love letter to the happy hardcore scene as a thumping 4x4 bassline collides with melancholic vocals and piano lunacy. Finally, BEERUS rounds off GAB002 in style with “DO U WANT ME” an atmospheric jungle weapon.

Reptile Mob is a newly launched, vinyl-only sub-label of the well-regarded GLBDOM imprint. It kicks off with a five-track various artists release that pays homage to the garage sound. 'Don't Know It' by Highrise opens up with a distantly 90s vibe, then Sky Joose shows his class on 'On The Shores' with its hard-edged bassline and full-throttle drums. Johnny U-Tah works some re-pitched and time-stretched vocals to perfection on 'Voices In My Head', with further gems from The Thunderkats whose 'Melatron' is a piano-laced bumper and last of all Jay Ward's 'Everything That I Need' brims with vocal lushness. A top draw start for sure.

UE Premiere: Rick Wade - Lonely Expedition | Low Recordings

Kloke joins the Run it Red label for a stunning 4 track jungle ep. Fresh from dropping several excellent releases on Future Retro, !K7 and several other labels as well as collaborations with Tim Reaper,  Kloke brings the 93 darkside style into the year 2023 for Echo Chamber Sound's sub label.
These tracks have the perfect balance of rawness and intricacy that Kloke is known for and could be mistaken for lost dubs played at Rage or the Bluenote sessions with only a cassette recording to tell the tale. Luckily they are brand new tunes, crisply mastered at The Exchange and pressed on a 4 track 12inch. Label owner LQ reworks the title tune Dark Knight with signature low end power and dubwise sonic manipulation.

Settle Down has emerged from the depths of Dorset over the past couple of years, with a slew of releases on E-Beamz, Blueskin Badger, Western Lore, and his own imprint Settledown. It is rumoured that rave is in his blood, living next to the rave mecca that was Fantazia summertime events, the young musician would put his head out the window late at night to hear the energy of Ratpack, Ellis Dee, and Sasha. heralding back to his heady youth Settle Down has treated us to a NO NEW MUSIC SET, strictly 1991 - 1993 Jungle and Hardcore.
