This project was inspired by the brave girls and women of Iran who, after the tragic death of Mahsa Amini on September 16th, have taken to the streets across the country protesting 43 years of female oppression imposed by the Islamic Republic. Although we come from different places and may speak different languages, our demands for freedom and justice are the same. This transmission was created illuminate, educate, and amplify female voices of resistance.

Founder of INSERT SOUND, co-creator of PHX140, and former resident DJ for goth nights 6 Feet Under & Lilith, unexpected pedestrian has established herself as a force in Phoenix and beyond by honoring the roots of the underground while pushing forward thinking music.

Her influences range from dub to post-punk and the many flavors of bass and synth music that emerged thereafter. Whether she is flexing a system or mixing for the airwaves, her sonic journeys stay grounded in low-end heavy and dark soundscapes of vast worldly origins. 

She held a year long residency on SUB.FM and has broadcasted on distinguished radio stations locally and across the globe. With lots of original music and collaborations in the works, keep an eye out for forthcoming releases of her auditory footprint.
