PREMIERE: Nocow - posredi

Otik's debut on Aus Music, the Xoul Trap EP back in May 2023, showcased his unique blend of atmospheric and breakbeat-powered techno. It is one of many releases over the last decade that have helped establish Ashley Thomas as an artist with a left-of-centre perspective. As well as curating his own Solar Body label he has dropped his singer sounds on Mall Grab's Steel City Dance Discs and Martyn's 3024, where he served up his debut album Cosmosis late in 2024. 

The lush 'Retrograde' is doused in loved-up synth layers and beautiful arps that swirl around a dusty, driving beat. The celestial charm is heightened with angelic vocal motifs that drift through the mix as the lo-fi drums drive on and lock you into a hazy trance.  
'X-Dream' is another melodic masterclass, this time with a garage-tinged and shuffling groove. Gorgeously tender keys rain down from above next to more echoing vocal coos and heavenly synth smears. The whole thing has a hint of melancholy that makes for an even more lasting impact.

For some, career choices come naturally, as was the case with Introversion: "I never planned a music career, it just happened. I started making music in my early
childhood." Now based in Berlin, Introversion has established himself as a producer, sound designer, and DJ, influencing the scene with his distinctive, pioneering style.
Drums are central to Introversion’s productions, having been the first instrument he learned in his youth. Many of his tracks feature breakbeat elements, defining his sound. His work often blends dark, '90s-inspired techno with melancholic touches. He skillfully incorporates wild synth stabs and full-force drums, balanced by classic trance chords, creating a fresh and invigorating sound. As a DJ, Introversion blends playful, forceful techno, drawing on new or unreleased material alongside carefully selected classics. His sets focus on finding the perfect balance between severe kick drums and atmospheric moments.
In a short time, Introversion has gained global recognition through acclaimed
releases and performances at iconic venues like Berghain Berlin, Institut für Zukunft Leipzig, Faust Seoul, and FOLD London. His breakthrough came with the 2017 EP "Dystopia," now considered a modern techno classic.
Following this success, he released music on ARTS, Materia, and Emerald, and
remixed tracks for artists like Ellen Allien, Nicolas Bougaieff, Blue Hour, and SHDW
& Obscure Shape. In 2024 he launched his own label Makatao with the solo EP “Sea Of Life”.

Esteemed Russian D+B producers Bop x Subwave are back with the second release under their new collaborative project. The four-track ‘Dream On’ EP is a perfect encapsulation of the pair’s style, seamlessly infusing their sounds to create a unique and refreshing project whereby the duo have once again tested the boundaries of D+B moving into the realms of garage and lo-fi jungle.

Kicking off the EP is ‘Higher Dimension’, a synthwave-infused D+B number with a dark twist. Dreamlike vocals drenched in reverb combined with nostalgic synths and an unforgiving bassline set the listener up for what’s to come. The minimal yet soulful ‘Escape From U’ follows, bringing crisp percussion and melancholic vibes to this sublime stepper.

‘Lo-Fi Romance’ leads the way for the second half of the EP. Airy pads and bare-bone breaks lay the foundations for this simple yet sophisticated liquid roller. Switching up the vibe yet staying true to the distinct Bop x Subwave sound, ‘Haze’ rounds off the EP, taking things down to 130BPM territory. A clear homage to the sounds of the UK underground with garage-influenced drums and a hard hitting sub.

After the success of their debut EP ‘Love & Other Drugs’ including a number 1 track in the Beatport Garage chart, appraisal from key electronic music publications such as DJ Mag and Resident Advisor as well as radio support across BBC Radio 1, Rinse FM and Reprezent, it’s set to be a huge year for the duo project.
