This album is a global effort to connect the different tribes and scenes around the world to come to a more openminded and sustainable human society.

The music was contributed by members of the Tribal Bass FB group;

and compiled and mastered by Hentopan aka dustrickx, a tribal bass promotor from Belgium.

For easter 2021 ( on 4/4 this year) we release this new compilation with the best in tribal bass music as a dedication to the group and the entire scene and a way to cross international boundaries and bring together the world in a year of reconnection.

Tribal Bass is a mixture of genres ranging from styles using idm-ish breakbeats and fusion trip-hop over ethnic instrumentals, global trap to psy-dub, experimental bass and glitch-hop. It is known as a danceable downtempo style for psy-heads and nu-school hippies and is usually plaid at chill out or second stage areas in European psychedelic festivals, but it also hits the main stages in US, AU, NZ and Can. “Breathe” is a collection of three instrumental songs that are closely linked to very personal processes, and brought together by the theme of breath. Breathing is a doorway to deeper layers of myself, where I can process unresolved issues, and feel what wants to be felt.

I made Breathing Life for a friend who was going through a difficult period. For years I believed that I put her emotion into this song, as if I could, until I realised it was all my own. The pain, the confusion, the difficulties that were my own, and also the breath and light I needed.

I made Exala when I came back from India, where I played in a band as a percussionist for several weeks. At one point they needed a man's voice and a microphone was placed in front of me. The process that followed was a major challenge because I always had a lot of problems with my own voice. I am eternally grateful to the band for their help and patience, because since then I feel free enough to use my voice in my music.

Breathe and Restore is a live recording during a restorative yoga weekend of Elemental Roots. I close my eyes and breathe, feel the space and the people, and use music as a guidance and anchor for going into silence. In that silence there is a space from which music can come again. I love letting this happen, and it is the most beautiful and purest thing I can offer, both to others and to myself.

Panoptics is the virtual playground of @Hentopan108 (Be) and @Distalvision (Aus), in which they let their individual styles and inspirations collide into global creative collaborations. DistalVisions trance-inducing cold edged psy-tech style gets organically remixed into creamy lo-fi Tribal Bass by Hentopan and visa versa.

Dark Light is the second official EP of Panoptics in which they further explore and define their style of progressive dance and trance music for the global cyber-nomad generation.

Dark Light is a story of integration and balance, where dark and light meat, where life offers more than a single flat character story but is in fact a spectrum of multi-colored infinite light particles in which we navigate with an often confused or diffused mind. The album references tribal cultures and sci-fi movies and specifically the dellusion of 'time' as a singular dimension, in order to create a timeless space for audio enjoyment and inner-space travelling.
