UNTAPE017 – Sabine Hoffmann

All good things come in threes, so why not record one podcast including three mixes! So far we invited 18 talented artists to our series and each one of them delivered a captivating and unique mix. For the 19th edition we gathered on a cozy Saturday evening and recorded an End of the Year Special Podcast consisting of three sets in a row, mixed from the heads behind this project. 

Although each mix presents an individual signature, there's a smooth continuity throughout the whole recording, ranging from dubby and trippy, to more stripped down and mental gems and ending with bass heavy, atmospheric breaks and acid.

Our next podcast marks a premiere for us, as it's the first live set in our series. 
Porto based producer and liveact A Thousand Details (@athousanddetails) recorded 1,5 hours of live improvised, fierce and forceful machine music for us – it can hardly get more raw than this! Delicious!

Rather known for his sci fi techno releases on renowned labels like Token or Mote Evolver, the Spanish DJ and Producer ORBE (@orbeartist) crafted something different yet not less remarkable for our podcast series. For the selection he went back to where it all started for him musically and recorded a mix consisting of trippy breakbeats and dirty electro. Maravilloso!

The next mix in our series flew in and left us lifting off. Recorded by Tbilisi local Uväll (@uvallmusic) this one comes in deep and raw with trippy textures and pounding rhythms letting us reminisce of those peak times on a dark and foggy dancefloor.

For our 26th mix Porto based AlFaer (@alfaer) put together one hour of exquisite deepness - slower paced, atmospheric and with a melancholic touch, this mix is especially standing out in times of ever rising BPMs. Refreshing!

For our 27th episode we invited Hamburg based DJ 50PHIE (@50phie50phie), who recorded an eclectic and versatile mix, in which she’s serving the whole musical bandwrith of our project by skillfully blending various subgenres and spanning a bow between deep, dub and Detroit leaning sounds. Chapeau!

For our 28th podcast we invited the Italian artist Divide (@d17c11), who crafted a really unique and atmospheric mix for us, blending classy dub techno tracks with hypnotic and pulsating deep techno.

Some months ago we had a pretty good time dancing to a pretty good live set, played by Berlin based artist Ben Reymann (@ben-reymann) at a party hosted by our friends from Lowpass (@lowpass-289568637). Hence we are delighted to release the recording as our 29th podcast. Trippy modular sounds and atmospheric vocals flowing over deep kicks and crisp percussions is what you’re getting served in this extended 1,5 hours live set. Thank you Ben!

For the 30th edition of our podcast series, we invited Ethan Koop (@ethankoop) from Portugal. He delivers one hour of dense textures and sharp percussive structures — stripped-back, hypnotic, and dubby.

For our 31st podcast, we're excited to share a part of a fantastic mix recently recorded at Lux Frágil in Lisbon by Portuguese DJ and producer Fresko (@fresk0). We really like this one, as it’s a smooth and slower-paced blend of deep atmospheres, tribalistic percussive rhythms and sci-fi-esque bleeps and basslines.

The next mix in our series comes from Portuguese-born, Rotterdam-based DJ and producer Valody (@val0dy). Over the course of one hour, she delivers one warm dub techno gem after another, starting at 118 BPM and gradually building up to 131 – what a great idea, what a great mix! Thank you, Valody.

The next episode in our podcast series comes from our friend Kralle (@kralle_dj) from Berlin. He delivers a smooth mix with a laid-back vibe, blending wobbly grooves and percussions with atmospheric trippers and subtle psy elements. A pretty distinctive one – thank you, Vale!
