Drum & bass stalwarts Black Sun Empire are to follow up a trio of recent EPs from The Upbeats, Neonlight and Pythius with the release of ‘Until The World Ends’ - a five-track, collaborative EP with NZ duo State Of Mind. Lead single ‘Ego’ will be released on 7th December via their genre-defining Blackout imprint, drawing an end to a prolific 2014 for the label. 

‘Ego’ immediately sets the tone for the rest of the EP, with growling bass lines and punchy synth-stabs underpining dark, techy atmospherics and vocal loops. Skittering melodics then give way to signature frenetic beats and firing drums to round off proceedings in style.

Blackout have built a reputation for curating their own brand of dark, neurofunk-inspired drum & bass over the past 12 months and this collaboration with long-term collaborators State Of Mind - who released their latest album ‘Eat The Rich’ via Blackout earlier this year - feeds into the hype already surrounding the label moving into 2015.

Multi-awarding DJ/producer Friction has already reached legendary status in the dance music scene.  From cutting his teeth in the UK’s underground to becoming one of its most revered & respected DJs, his CV includes headline tours around the world, six years as host of the BBC Radio 1 Drum & Bass show and founding iconic independent labels Shogun Audio & Elevate Records. From huge collabs with the likes of SOTA, Koven & Mozey to remixing the likes of Friction, Ferry Corston & Basement Jaxx, his instantly recognisable but unique production has dominated charts, dance floors & festival stages around the world.  
 
The two longtime friends & Brighton locals come together on Interstellar, a power club anthem which Friction has been causing havoc opening his DJ sets with over the past few months.  With an epic sci-fi inspired opening leading to its powerful drop, the tune has been highly requested by drum & bass fans for some time and does not disappoint.
