Durham Town Planner Michael Behrendt sat down with WUNH, Durham News Director Jacob Dawson live on-air for this interview. Mr. Behrendt was live on March 16th at 10:30 a.m. talking about his job and how his passion for architecture lead him to becoming a town planner. Mr. Behrendt talked about how his job is a lot more than just town planning but rather how to use several different resources within the town to make Durham a better place to live for the year-round residents and the students. Mr. Behrendt also touched on some past projects that he has worked on like The Lodges and Madbury Commons development. He also detailed current development plans like the RiverWoods Durham senior living center and the Mill Road Plaza redevelopment.

The Durham Town Administrator Todd Selig was live on WUNH with News Director Jake Dawson for an interview from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Selig talked about his life and education ahead of his long stay in Durham where he was been the town administrator for the last 18 years. Selig is also a UNH alum and talked about how throughout his tenure in Durham the relationship between the town and the university has improved greatly. Selig also talked about some of the bigger accomplishments that he is proud to have overseen while also working out the problems of the area. Selig also sits on the Town Council in a non-voting position but speaks often and addresses concerns from the townspeople. Being the day after April Fools’ Days, Selig also shared the Durham Friday Updates April Fools’ Edition with some goofy stories from the employees at Town Hall. Town Council meetings are the first and third Monday of each month at the Town Hall located at 8 Newmarket Road in Durham.
