For well over a decade, under the shadow of Bucharest’s playground of architectural contrasts, a restless musical soul has been honing his craft. What began in the late 2000s as a gentle ripple of well-executed 4/4 grooves, has now evolved into a wave of devilishly polished compositions. Ones that pay homage not just to the likes of early 90’s epochal house, but to hip hop as well. Victor Ernuteanu has molded his Guy From Downstairs guise around this undeniable enthusiasm for sound. An imaginative freedom that allows him to express himself through intricate rhythms and layers. As the decade draws to a close, he is truly coming into his artistic prime. The road behind him paved with signings from eminent underground labels like Germany’s Pleasure Zone, Welsh imprint @CurteaVeche, @Therehtoside, and our own label Unic. His analog fuelled sound is the essence of the underground movement we value, and we are truly thrilled to showcase such a magnificent journey from one of Romania’s finest. Crafted using 100% of his own material.
