Hailing from BC's sunny interior, Carissa Gem grew up in the rave, and has been filling dance floors since before she was old enough to drive. Her sound is forward thinking and is constantly evolving. Drawing on influences from artists like Barisone, The Librarian, Mad Zach, and Danny Scrilla, you can expect her sets to be bass heavy with a healthy dose of rap.
 These days you can find Carissa in Calgary, Alberta, where she has become a predominant figure in the bass music scene and is the host of What Will The Neighbours Think every Friday night on CJSW 90.9FM. WWTNT is an iconic radio show in Calgary focused on diving deep into the newest sounds in bass music, including dubstep, footwork, juke, leftfield and halftime producers and label showcases from Calgary and beyond. WWTNT brings the party to your living room with personal selects from Carissa every last Friday of every month. 

When she's not behind the decks, she spends her time swapping party planning tips and lending a hand to some of the best curators of Western Canada's deep soundscape culture.

All proceeds donated to this mix will go directly to OutRight International, a Ukrainian LGBTQIA+ Organization dedicated to donating funds to queer efforts.

All of this music (except the bit playing at the beginning which is by Maya Jane Coles) was generated by AI. I asked people to submit prompts. These were fed into Chat GPT for lyrics and then into Suno for the song. Before each song, I give the prompt.

This was played live at Otherworld 2024, our regional Burning Man event here on Vacouver Island.

The quality of the music is impressive. And the direction the AI went with many of the prompts is pretty hilarious.
