The Director is back with another feel good Summer anthem, Let Me Be Your Energy. Following the success of his previous single Undercranking, which gathered support and festival plays from industry leading DJ’s such as Claptone and Dombresky, Let me Be Your Energy brings The Director’s signature French Touch 2.0 sound back in full force. This time around however, the French native/Montreal based artist opts for the ever so catchy Freddie James sampled vocal hook lines and plucky guitar riffs, all masterfully processed and cleverly filtered to bring us a turnkey DJ set banger.

Suite au succès de son EP B-Movie qui l’a amené sur les scènes d’Autriche à l'Electric Love Festival, de New York City au Silencio, au Pamela de Paris ou à Montréal pour l’Igloofest, Mathis aka The Director a décidé de rallumer son studio digne de "Homework" de Daft Punk en 1999 pour "Outtakes”.Son premier single se distingue par un style Disco-House intense, rempli de boucles accrocheuses et de paroles mémorables dans "Cliffhanger", flirte avec la Techno dans "Quiet On Da Set", et évoque le classique "Music Sounds Better With You" dans "Take Number One (On & On)" ce second opus se prête au jeu de l’écoute continue, où chaque piste transitionne vers la suivante. Avec le support de têtes d’affiche de la disco-house moderne comme Barry Can’t Swim, Claptone, Dombresky, Duke Dumont, ainsi que BBC Radio 1, Tomorrowland, Fun Radio, etc., "B-Movie" confirme la recette 90s House de The Director, qu’il partage depuis peu sur Instagram sous “Taylorhythm”, réunissant plus de 60 000 fans de musique house et plusieurs millions de vues. "Outtakes" reste fidèle à son prédécesseur: un son puissant, une musicalité poussée, une sensibilité unique dans la house moderne, et une écoute accessible sans pour autant devenir mainstream.

“Bangalter” is Superfunk’s new single.
SUPERFUNK are Stephane B & Mike 303, two house music producers from Marseille, France. 
Taking off in the late 1990’s and in line with the French Touch disco house movement at that time, Stephane and Mike released their first album « Hold Up » as Superfunk, in collaboration with Ron Carroll who features the hit single “Lucky Star” (over a million copies sold), licensed on Virgin Records thru their label Fiat Lux.
‘Lucky Star’ became a worldwide platinum hit record and a radio classic still played today. House pioneers like Paul Johnson or Dimitri From Paris went on to work on the album making it the biggest selling dance french record of the year 2K.
They didnt lose anything of their superb French Touch and found home on Computer Science, Lifelike’s parisian house label for this special « Bangalter EP ».
An hommage to the producer Thomas Bangalter (Daft Punk) who inspired an entire generation of producers and DJ’s, and still does today.
We called our good friend Sedat The Turkish Avenger, one of Crydamoure’s (Guy Manuel de Homem Christo label) favorite, Lifelike and Dealers De Funk to remix that « Bangalter » mad-disco-on-steroids track.
« Bangalter EP » is French Touch’ed House at it’s best, Christmas 2017 will definately be filtered… the right way.
