I got my face smashed up when I was seventeen
It was a bit of fun that went wrong
Doctors said I was lucky
I could see, I could breathe
But they couldn't do much for my face
and it healed in the wrong way
and a boy hasn't smiled at me in fifteen years (except to mock me)
And my mother hasn't smiled at me in fifteen years (only in pity)
