Argentina's Kevin Di Serna believes in the therapeutic potential of music. He places great importance on finding real emotion and human connections in his productions, which have come on the likes of Innervisions, Watergate, and All Day I Dream and put him right at the forefront of the progressive scene. For this new EP, he links with countryman Santor, who is fast making waves and has shared the stage in recent years with Dixon, Juan Hansen and more.

The title cut 'Blessway' has already been getting support from John Digweed. A thumping groove serves as the foundation for a cosmic exploration with rising synth progressions and glowing pads taking dancers ever higher. A filtered vocal adds layers of texture, and wispy melodies come and go to keep things on the move. 'Please' is a more direct and driving sound with dubby undercurrents and an aching female vocal hook. Sugary, pixelated chord sequences pan across the groove before making way for more delicate and tender synth notes that rain down the track. It's a gorgeous world of sound that also comes as an edgy dub version with more emphasis on the lush harmonics.

Jody Barr returns to open Sudbeat’s 2025 schedule high on a wave of success.

Breaking onto the scene around a decade ago, Jody has built up a serious back catalogue on some high profile imprints such as LNOE, Balance and The Soundgarden, as well as support from elite players such as Sasha, Laurent Garnier and Hernan Cattaneo himself. 

His own label, Portable Minds has grown in statue since launch in 2016 allowing Jody and like-minded artists to release creative projects that buck current trends without fear.

Opening the EP, ‘Cherry Red’ bounces from the speaker. An uptempo percussive framewerk sets the scene as melodics ebb and flow. Frolicking bass notes playfully weave among the arps, creating a fun, summery vibe for these cold winter months. 

Next up, ‘Cordoba’ is presented in two distinct flavours. In original form is a patient, trancey mid-setter with bags of personality and a huge, epic breakdown,
while the Sierra Mix showcases Jody’s mastery of broken beats.
