UniPhi started with singer-song writers Eric Anderton and Scott Petersen and Guitarist/Keys Ryan Wood in 2009 and quickly grew as other talented band members were enlisted to join. Denton Donley (Drums), Jason White (Bass), and Jeff Pendleton (Lead Guitar) joined in 2010 and took the music to a whole new level. UniPhi combines meaningful lyrics, a little reggae, rock and hip hop twist in their singing style. They have always had a passion for music and entertaining. Some of their musical influences include Bob Marley, Tribe Called Quest, Pearl Jam and Trevor Hall. UniPhi’s ability to connect with the audience and create intense energy has made a name for them. They started out with monthly shows at Liquid Joes, a local bar in Salt Lake City, UT and have since opened for the popular band Sublime (with Rome), Everlast, Singer Songwriter Cameron Rafati, talented band Vibrant Sound and the acclaimed artists OK GO. Within the first year of performing UniPhi entered a local battle of the bands competition sponsored by local radio station X-96 and through public vote won by a landslide, leading to the band opening up the 2010 X96 Nightmare before X-Mas concert featuring Inner Party System, Middle Class Rut and OK GO. Many other large venue shows came after such as opening for Sublime w/Rome at Saltair, Freedom Festival, and more! UniPhi released their first major studio album in the Spring of 2012 called “Walk Your Road”.
