UD was born in 2009 as the synthpop persona of Tommaso (vocals) and Valerio (synthesisers/piano), both based in Bologna. The duo now operates between Bologna (IT) and Bruxelles (BE).

Inspired by the sounds and aesthetics of retro-futurist electronic music, UD began to explore their own embodiment of the genre, as summarised in their first album "Futurism", released in 2012. The first single, "Blood&Beat" (2011), received extensive radio airplay and some remixes. The second, darker single "Brave" led to an independent videoclip featured at the Gender Bender Festival (BO). 

Since 2012, the two producers collaborate with the association UNTERBAHN on the production of short films: “Antropologicamente diversi”(http://vimeo.com/49244642), a portrait of Italian politics starring Marco Travaglio, and “Undefeated” (http://vimeo.com/49801735), a sophisticated reworking of medical footage material, for which they created the original soundtrack "Futurism". 

They also realised music for fashion videoclips (through MSGM, models.com). After this hiatus from their songwriting, they are currently working on their second album.
