Attila and Szilard are Pleasure Voyage, a DJ and production duo hailing from Budapest. Since 2018 they have been curating and performing their love of balearic and disco music which has led to their debut release LP "Daydreams".  A wonderful collection of seven songs, "Daydreams" is presented on Prins Thomas balearic leaning sub-label Horisontal Mambo. Each track is as alluring as the next; and the LP carries a wonderous seductive musicality throughout. There is of course a nod to the past in it's style, but the album retains a contemporary feel with it's breezy and carefree series of tracks that are designed to be enjoyed under warm summer skies. The production is silky and polished, and with Prins himself providing a gentle guiding hand, it's sure to be an album that will see us through the long hot summer months and far beyond. Simply essential.

Gudu Records label continues a 2023 for the books with Dream Universe, a new four-track EP by Italian duo Hiver.

Based in Milan, Giuseppe Albrizio and Sergio Caio have spent the last decade honing a very special take on electro and machine funk, driven by the duo’s trademark basslines, glossy strings that drip with emotion and an overall utopian nature.

On Dream Universe, a “tribute to early ‘90s house and trance”, built around trance elements, acid bass and Detroit-inspired rhythms made on iconic synthesizers like the Alpha Juno, Juno 106 and the Roland 303, 909 and D-550, they pack more energy and emotion into their music than ever before, from the high-emotional vocal that defines the EP’s title track, to the raw bass hits that drive ‘Lodash’.

At this point, Hiver’s sound is so distinctive that you know one of their tracks the minute you hear it, but Dream Universe feels like the high water mark of their work to date; a duo in complete control of their craft.

Catz ‘n Dogz ready the next 12” on their vinyl only PETS raw and refined offshoot - STEP. This comes in the follow up to records from A1 Bassline, Eduardo De La Calle, Andre Kronert and the label owners themselves and marks the return Das Komplex who offers up his ‘All For Love’ LP.

Hailing from Koszalin in Poland, Das Komplex is undoubtedly an artist of many talents - a full time Architect by trade, he has released material on Father And Son Records and Tapes label and also offered up the extolled and coveted 6th pressing on the STEP imprint back in August 2015 - a record that sold out rapidly after hitting the shelves. Now - his return marks the first foray into long-play format for STEP and allows Das Komplex to stretch his legs across 8 masterful Disco grooves.

Dżem kicks things off to a sunny start with sizzling guitar licks and softly pattering bongos before the slick Italo-tinged ‘Obelisk’ and the richly atmospheric ‘Redukcja Dysonansu Poznawczego’ follow up. The project spreads out towards the jubilant and dreamy ‘All For Love’ which leads into ‘Brukiew’ - an introverted but ultimately feel-good conclusion that wraps up a beautifully balmy collection and another coup for STEP.

Now, “II REMIXES” puts the beat back into the mix, thanks to iconic artists @DIXON, @I-CUBE and WASSERMANN (@wolfgang_voigt) who each develop their own irresistible groove out of the immersive source material.
