🗯🗯 Did your approach on creating music change during the pandemic and did it maybe even influence your stay? 🗯🗯

I start to productive before the pandemic start. So I appreciate that I have been doing it during the pandemic and think about more meaning of production. But my message of DJing is more energy and live act with people so I have been finding the different way of expression in this new situation. This is more important meaning for me.

🗯🗯 What´s your history with music in general and DJ-ing especially 🗯🗯

My history of DJ-ing is Berlin. I moved to Berlin in 1999. Then I have been playing local clubs. I have been playing more house to bigbeat and breakbeats and less Techno that time. Then I met Richie (Richie Hawtin) in 2008 in Berlin, joining his ENTER.sake in Ibiza in 2012, 3 years after I became “HITO”, have been playing worldwide.

🗯🗯 How would you describe your style? 🗯🗯

I would say “Hito Style”..haha.. I am still 100% Vinyl player in any venues so I still feel don’t give up to play in Vinyl. I don’t forget myself the first touch of the track on vinyl and want to share with new generation.

🗯🗯 Did you have a mentor? 🗯🗯
I grow up with Richie, he shows me many different situations and venues and countries in the world. I most experienced his set in my DJ life I guess so I simply appreciate his sharing and passion for the music. I really thankful for this.

🗯🗯 Which tracks marks a highlight in your set?  🗯🗯
I would say some of the track when I play around after 40”min.  I normally do first half a hour warm up myself then I create first loller coaster point with highlight go my set. The track which has deep and groovy energy, can be always several tracks.

Kobi and I have known each other well before we had ever met; over those epic Deep Dish '90's sessions at the legendary Haoman 17 club in Tel Aviv. While we shared a deep love of dance music, his trajectory veered into LA nightclub operation, promotion and ultimately, his ode to the seemingly perfect venue, Sound Nightclub. I still remember the tour he and Craig Pettigrew gave me before they opened the doors. It was - and is - beautiful.

Over the past decade, with each visit, I watched as Kobi tweaked, fine-tuned. revamped, and upgraded endless times - never missing the slightest detail - to ensure that gave their crowd and the numerous top-tier artists who've graced that booth, the perfect nightclub experience. From the layout...to sound, production and staff, Kobi nailed it; it's why Sound is on a very short list of venues I'd be willing to do an open to close set.

So a very happy 10yr anniversary Sound Nightclub and congrats to my brother Kobi; hope you all enjoy my 6hr journey from last month.

Dubfire Boiler Room Berlin DJ Set

This takes my 3 hour set and compresses it into a 2 hour fragmented interpretation.
Also aired on BBC RADIO 1 on September 1, 2012.

A series of fragmented audio edits based upon my live DJ set recordings. Each one will attempt to capture the feeling and direction of the night, giving those who were there a reminder of the events they experienced while giving those who were not present a fragmented distortion of what they missed.
