Deep Mob are deeply rooted in the spirit of soundsystem culture serving up a heavy mix of speaker rattling UKG, rave and big basslines with sweet songwriting and a whole cast of killer vocalists. This is a new project coming from two producers immersed in UK bass, dubstep, garage and jungle. Together they have played raves and festivals across the world including Glastonbury, Boomtown, Bestival, Burning Man and many more.

Their debut with vocalist Steph West whose current single is getting rinsed on 1Xtra and dancehall specialist Parly B (Mungo's Hifi/Hospital) is a tribute to 90s Garage culture and is already picking up support on Capital, Rinse and beyond. Missin - DJ Shepdog

This audio work explores listening as a relational practice. It is composed from live recordings made during a series of public events at the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid, developed in response to John Akomfrah’s exhibition Listening All Night to the Rain. Visitors engaged with the exhibition through sound, using microphones and short-range radio transmitters to share sonic responses across the gallery space. Participants amplified audio from the artworks, sang along, commented on recurring themes, and created brief poetic interventions.

As we moved through the galleries, we passed through shifting zones of broadcast. Each radio receiver picked up a different mix of overlapping transmissions, producing unstable layers of sound, interference, and delay. Radios squeaked and faltered as signals competed to be heard, creating constantly changing constellations of voices and textures.

Akomfrah’s work positions listening as a form of social action. In response, this activity invited visitors to explore the interplay between receiving and transmitting, and to consider how listening and sounding together shape both the experience of the exhibition and communication with one another. The resulting audio composition plays with radio textures and begins with the sound of a navigational beacon—a radio signal used to guide those travelling at sea.
