I always wanted a longer version of this track because I love the sub-bass and haunting sounds.

But I actually stripped this tune down to it's stems and slowed it down because I wanted to discover how that awesome pounding bassline makes your whole body climax when standing in front of a full sized club sound system speaker, like the one I first heard this tune on at the Custard Factory (the Valve Sound System and the resident sound system in the Medicine Bar) in the 2000's.

This is another live dub style remix using track faders and effects knobs on my mixing board, done mostly in one take for that live mixed feel. I hope you enjoy!

A mostly downtempo mix as an homage to UB40 and the people who influenced and helped them. Some classics, some favorites, some deep-cuts and some of my own remixes and edits.

This has been a labour of love for me, for at least the past 6 months since I started doing edits of UB40 tunes and it snowballed into this. 

It has also been therapeutic for me as my mother sadly passed away early this year and she actually grew up in the Campbell family and was brought up with Ali and Robin. Some of my earliest memories as a child are hearing the crackling scratchy LP and seeing the yellow album sleeve of the Signing Off album - covered in burns from hot-rocks and from heating pebbles of hash. I have such fond memories of my mom taking me to musical family gatherings and UB40 concerts. I hope this mix is as comforting, nostalgic and therapeutic for you as well.
