In early 2013, I recorded The Pain of Indigestion under the one-off project name The Loperamides. It was my only metal composition—part experiment, part parody. Coming from a DIY punk and indie rock background, I wanted to see if I could pull off something heavier and more technically demanding. At the same time, the track pokes fun at the over-the-top seriousness of extreme metal, a genre I could never fully connect with. All instruments and vocals were performed and recorded by me, Chuck Baclagon.
