Based in Berlin and with Russian roots, @kalteliebe keep drawing their inspiration from Post-Punk, Grunge, Dark Wave, EBM, and Techno. Coming with years-long experiences in different musical projects ranging from beat-making over metal bands, Hip Hop ensembles, and more the project started back in 2019 using a drum machine, a bass synth, and a wasted microphone, only.
Authentically recorded in a 12 square meter room in Berlin Kalte Liebe started out as an experiment combining diverse influences by the likes of Sydney Vallette, Thomas P. Heckmann @troperecordings, @dieselektion, DAF, Falco, and more into their distinctively analog, raw, and bassline-driven style.
While their productions are mostly consisting of an elaborated mixture of EBM and old-school Dark Wave paired with technoid characteristics and captivating, roughly distorted vocals in German and Englisch the duo equally stands for tool-ish and highly energetic Techno – modern, pounding, and dirty.
With recent releases on labels like @01010100records , @vituscurse & BFT, even more strongly performing self-releases like „Ego EP“and their recently launched label „Sys.Ex“ they are slowly establishing their name in the scene and quickly growing their audience. With a live performance in the making and packed with loads of unreleased work Kalte Liebe is soon to be heard all over.

riko is a Hanover based music artist with a weakness for old-school techno and falafel. To define his own style of music, he launched his label named CEP Records in 2019. He started publishing self releases in a digital and analog way. Giselle Guedes, a Brazilian-born and London-based DJ, is no stranger to the underground scene. Known for her diverse and relentless hard-hitting techno and industrial sets, as well as a few special trance & hard groove performances, she never fails to make the room tremor with energy. Being a music enthusiast since a very young age, grew up playing piano and keyboard and as an avid listener of rock and psytrance. In 2018, she found her love for techno after moving to London and started DJing later on, using her background as an inspiration for her sets. Last year Giselle performed on her first gig and since then has already played in many places around Europe, collaborating with various established events and labels such as Teletech, Doom Bogotá, Monasterio, Fold, Dusk Records and Ismus. Currently an aspiring producer and about to release her own event this month, expect to hear a lot more of her soon.

This week on the Ismcast we have Caniche.

Before having played in major cities like London, Vienna and Berlin, where she resides today, Caniche developed her penchant for hard but groovy Techno early on. From her very first set in 2018, Caniche’s unique style has always been characterized by combining Tribal Techno and Hardgroove with full-on Schranz. Mesmerizing old school percussion and drums constitute the main element of her mixes. 

While still in the process of developing her own sound as a producer, her recent tracks head in a similar direction, with a first release on Twice Infinity's sub label Groovecore United coming out in January 2023. 

As co-founder and resident of Vienna’s Female DJ Network - PUSH, Caniche fiercely fights for more visibility and equal treatment of FLINTA artists in the harder Techno scene. The network structure aims to connect and be a source of new approaches, mutual support, and inspiration for like minded DJs across Europe.
