French label Cosmocities, was established in 2019 by Matthieu Soulié-Strougar. Based in Dijon, the label has played host to an impressive roster that includes Leif, Segue, Jitwam, Inner Science, Inkswel, Active Ingredients and Kaidi Tatham. Also responsible for the sell-out smash by Detroit trio Billy Lo, with the outstanding ‘It’s The Life EP’ in January ’21. This coming  year the release schedule is looking fierce with EP’s form Delano Smith and Norm Tally in the 2022 pipeline, plus Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard gets busy on a remix for Japanese producer Inner Science next outing on the label. 

In keeping with this quality, A&R run, Cosmocities presents a four-track affair by Neapolitan scenester, DJ & producer, Fabrizio Fattore, entitled the ‘Lyle EP’. Bringing onboard the production muscle in the shape of Vince Watson. The Englishman, based out of Amsterdam, has been putting out timeless music for over 20 years, over two hundred releases and eleven albums. This man knows his way around a studio.

Fabrizio Fattore, forged his career as a DJ at the world renowned NEUHM party in Naples, sharing the box with artists like Ron Trent, François Kevorkian, Timmy Regisford, Soichi Terada. Since NEUHM started, Fabrizio Fattore was the resident alongside  Gigi Testa. His first release, the afro house ‘Genesis’ came out on Tribe Trax in 2017, later releasing on World Peace Music, and Visions Recordings.

“Nabu Network” is a colorful journey into the musical mind of Sorcerer (Daniel Saxon Judd). Soulful balearic tempos and tropical tones swim with sparkling guitars and uplifting melodies on this awesome pan-global journey from the disco to the rainforest. This exciting release is the first 12" on Universal Cave Records and features some of the California artist’s strongest works to date. The EP is made up of three original Sorcerer jams and a Universal Cave remix. Sorcerer’s legacy continues to float on with “Nabu Network.”

About a year and a half ago we had the pleasure of introducing you to Blair French and his fantastic debut on Rocksteady Disco, Standing Still Is An Illusion, by far one of our favourite records of 2017. We also had the pleasure of premiering Public Park from his follow-up record earlier this year. Although an already accomplished producer, Standing Still was the first time Blair produced under this alias and was also the first time he produced a dance record. What a debut.

Fast forwarding to today, Standing Still Is An Illusion has gotten the remix treatment, and let us tell you, it is quite the package. Featuring remixes from both Aroop Roy and Topher Horn, another Rocksteady Disco regular, it already sounds like a hit. But, we've got another first for you. Eli, from a duo you may have heard of called Soul Clap, is also on the bill. His debut release as Bamboozle just so happens to be a remix of Blair's debut. When we first heard the news, we thought that there was no way this recipe could be screwed up and boy were we ever right.

Quality late-night balearic grooves, erotic soundtracks and crafted disco reworks is what you can expect from Hot'n'Spicy. On B1 « is there any love », a luminous gospel slow "delice" and on B2, a dreamy 80's rework for melancholic lovers.
