When Ronny the Rocket and I first made this track, we couldn't decide who would be the best person to add their magical touch to the mix and master of this song. So we decided to have both Wou-Wou & the Wormling and Ill Dub make a version. I originally posted the Ill Dub version on my page and Ronny the Rocket posted the Wou-Wou & the Wormling version on his page. Both Ronny and I eventually took down the respective versions from our page as new music was made. I have numerous songs set to private to eventually delete as I am running out of space on my page and am not going to pay for a SoundCloud Pro Unlimited plan. But, I still like this song, so decided to give it fresh life on my page with the Wou-Wou & the Wormling mix. 

For this release, Wou-Wou & the Wormling provided me with this special artwork. I think it looks great and companions the song excellently!!!

"Leaping, floating, flying down those endless stairs through the dark house; racing mindlessly out into the narrow, steep, and ancient street of steps and tottering houses; clattering down steps and over cobbles to the lower streets and the putrid canyon-walled river; panting across the great dark bridge to the broader, healthier streets and boulevards we know; all these are terrible impressions that linger with me. And I recall that there was no wind, and that the moon was out, and that all the lights of the city twinkled.
Despite my most careful searches and investigations, I have never since been able to find the Rue d’Auseil. But I am not wholly sorry; either for this or for the loss in undreamable abysses of the closely-written sheets which alone could have explained the music of Erich Zann."

	This piece is the second track on “Experimental Cassette #0001”. It began as an experiment with sampling moments of “The Final Nights of E. Zann” (album) with an EHX 2880 looper. I was encouraged by another musician/filmmaker to experiment with cassette. Since I still have all of my old cassette recorders from high school days I took it as a fun challenge after living digitally for so long. After sampling random instruments and sections that I liked I began experimenting with live effects pedals on various samples as it played into a Vestax 6-track cassette recorder. “Rue d’Auseil” was the first piece that materialized from those experimentations and became a cornerstone upon which the rest of the album was built.
