Moonlight had only brushed the treetops when an underground bass tore through the moss like a giant’s breath. It was Paperfunk Recordings calling from a hidden crypt—The Crypt of Wilderness—where Bullaway had sealed away a primordial rhythm. The wanderer stepped into a ring of phosphorescent mushrooms; their caps clashed, neurofunk drums crackling with heat, sending shock-waves deep into the roots.

Beyond swirling blue mists a mirror-lake emerged. From its depths rose amplifier-mermaids; their glass tails shattered the reflection into a thousand light-pulses that made the air quiver. Their voices, refracted across the water’s skin, traded places with the rasp of broken percussion, every echo-ring pulling the traveller closer to the shore.

Among the reeds glimmered a shell-key. The instant the wanderer’s fingers closed on its cold spiral, the crypt split open like rolling thunder: stone walls began to breathe, and cascades of syncopation with juicy sub-hits flooded the night, as though Earth’s axis had decided to spin faster.

From that moment on, anyone who presses play on Bullaway’s release feels the same whirlwind: mushrooms lay a path with taut strikes, mermaids guide the melody over the water, and every heartbeat locks to the pulse of the Wildland. Following the conclusion of their malicious acts, the conquerors had grown fat upon the spoils of war. Through the great successes of their many campaigns they had accumulated plunder and tribute en-masse, and over the intervening years of peace it was their posession of these treasures rather than their martial prowess that had come to define them. As lords languished in their lavish villas their warriors lazed about untrained, themselves coming to pursue other avenues of work amidst the repulsively rich cities of their homelands.

On the faraway frontier, famine swept the land as the produce of the conquered was callously shipped off to the imperial core. Among the downtrodden who clung to life upon the ruins of their razed land, discontentment brewed beneath the surface, unnoticed amidst the DECADENCE of those who ruled. While the people of the frontier gathered in the secret circles of their ancient faith, the provincial governors who ruled over them gathered their friends for festivals of consumption & vice. Thus it was that when the avatar of the conquered people’s vengeance was summoned upon the land, it was not noticed until the shipments of luxuries to the empire’s capital suddenly ceased, after which its fiery form appeared at dusk on the horizon. There, it burned with the promise of a novel consumption - one that would cleanse the land of those who had stripped it bare and return to the soil the spoils that the conquerors has so brazenly stolen.

PAIMON returns to his solo alias with DECADENCE, his latest EP, which releases on EATBRAIN as one of the famed TEDDY KILLERZ delivers the spoils of his solo explorations in Neurofunk to the ears of the EATBRAIN horde.
