This song is based on an old 78 rpm recording that my father sent to my mother (Claire)in 1943, when he was in the US Army. It was a spoken letter in which he expressed his love for her and let her know that he would most likely be sent overseas very soon. It turned out to be the German front. The song is my interpretation and reimagining of something that occurred before I was born.
