Tenor saxophonist “Zoot” Sims grew up during both the Swing era and the early years of Bop where he absorbed the basic roots of Jazz. His playing contains the heartbeat that represents all of the Jazz periods making “Down Home” an enjoyable and consistently swinging set. Also featured on this album is pianist Dave McKenna, bassist George Tucker and drummer Dannie Richmond.

A genre formed, moulded, re-invented to fight against an oppression; a musical method of a struggle visualized in blocks, cross-rhythms, chromatics, lydians and vamps - audible artworks designed to shout out the injustices.

South African jazz was born into the Apartheid system and with its' birth came the growing of a bitter confrontation. Hugh Masekela, Miriam Makeba, Abdullah Ibrahim, Chris McGregor, Jonas Gwanga, Kippie Moeketsi. Names that list on in creating a musical form glued by a shared struggle.

This mix is in celebration of the otherworldly talent that has come out of South African jazz. A salutation.

This mix is dedicated to all South African women taken from us by Gender Based Violence and Femicide.

Adalah "Corcovado", yang ditulis oleh Antonio Carlos Jobim di tahun 1960-an. menjadi cerita akan sebuah tempat di kawasan perbukitan Rio de Janerio, Brasil. Dimana terdapat sebuah patung bernama "Christ The Redeemer" yang dibangun pada abad ke-18. dengan ketinggian sekitar 710 meter serta berdiri tegak, persis menghadap kearah lautan lepas, menawarkan keindahan pemandangan pasir putih ala pantai "Copacabana". 
Mirip-mirip, seperti yang ada di bukit Fatucama Dili, yang bernama "patung Kristus Raja". dibangun thn '96 oleh Mochamad "Bolil" Syailillah atas inisiatif Gubernur setempat, dgn penanggung jawab projectnya seorang direktur dari maskapai penerbangan Garuda. 
Patung ini diberikan sebagai kado ulang tahun, sekaligus peringatan integrasi Timor Leste atas Indonesia. dengan tinggi sekitar 27 meter, mencerminkan dari banyaknya jumlah provinsi saat itu...
