Returning for our first release of 2015, we proudly to welcome Gamma back to Dispatch for his first Dispatch EP as a solo artist.

Having previously released on the label as part of the Spinline trio, Gamma brought the incredible “If U Go Away” to our Transit 2 compilation album and we knew it was only a matter of time before he would be back for a full release.

Taking us into the New Year, the Zion EP is comprised of five tracks that delve deep into the senses, remaining pensive, yet always hard hitting.

Title track ‘Zion’ sets the scene dramatically, with half time beats shuffling over subterranean low ends. Collaborating with Dispatch favourite Hydro, ‘3 Dayz’ follows on, raising the energy levels with suave overlapping bass grooves.

‘Streetheadz’ comes next, a percussive assault on the dancefloor, with strong support so far. ‘Midnight Heat’ contrasts the elements expertly, with sultry pads and soft vocals met by dark, growling mids and sharp stepping drum work.

‘Empathy Control’ closes the EP with a slice of pure robotic funk, with a refined bassline cutting below jittering mechanic entities. Key support on this release comes from the likes of Toddla T (on BBC Radio 1), Icicle, Kasra, DLR & Safire.

Hot, quiet and long childhood summer days with nothing to do – we've all been there. Feelings of boredom and restlessness in the most cheerful way. It's memories like these that sets the scene for Orions Belte's new, sundazed EP "Slim".

Orions Belte first displayed their exotic flair on 2018 debut album "Mint". As the perfect soundtrack for lazy, summery days, the album opened people's eyes to the Norwegian psychedelic trio. Carefully arranged by the band, "Slim" contains song by artists they strongly admire – and contains ingenious reworkings of Ghostface Killah and Milton Nascimento, as well as a Robert Maxwell original paying tribute to Norwegian beat group The Pussycats and the late Mac Miller.

Orions Belte - Cherchez La Ghost

Concrete Things pays tribute to a great visionary author & activist named Lorraine Hansberry; her voice & ideas are at the core of the track. Released in defiance of these dark times Concrete Things highlights the importance of using our cognitive gifts to move forward – to steer ourselves towards the proverbial light.

The world radio premiere of Concrete Things was broadcasted by Huey Morgan on BBC 6 Music, March 21, 2020 (who made it Beat of the Week). Gideon Coe has also played it a few times on BBC 6 Music. Featured on both Indie Shuffle and Amazing Radio too.
