As a DJ, @hidekazutanaka is known for his ability to play and keep in a groove with black music from chill to dance, and jazz in particular. 

Organizer of the CIRCLE parties at the awesome Contact club and SQUAD party at the audiophile focused Bar Bonobo, both in Tokyo. He invites veteran DJs and alternative live acts in addition to local DJs. He was a resident at the StoiQ parties at Heavy Sick ZERO. Hidekazu is as local as it gets and helps push the scene forward. 02 - Hidekazu Tanaka (CIRCLE / SQUAD / StoiQ, Tokyo)

Long time DJ and part of the Lost Soul Enterprises crew and The Long Count Cycle, Zack Kerns (aka @Scallywag) is a local staple in New York and has played as far and wide as Japan and South America. He’s a regular at the city's top clubs, parties, and festivals having graced the decks of The Bunker @thebunkerny, Unter, and Sustain Release @sustain-release-nyc. He throws parties like his infamous Fourth World every July and has booked and played along side the likes of Helena Hauff, Veronica Vasicka, Legowelt, Traxx, and countless others. He’s a dope selector that doesn’t get enough attention. And here he is throwing it down for us for over an hour of dark House to Cosmic Techno, from Ambient vibes to Electro, to Acid, to DnB, to Glitchy stuff. Sound messy? Not when Zak does it, he’s a keeper of the craft. Check it out!

03 - Scallywag (The Long Count Cycle / Lost Souls Enterprise, NYC)

Based in Japan, Sanshiro (aka @toughguy_346)is a DJ, vinyl curator, author, father, and dope music selector. We discovered his blog, Deep Dance Music Page, more than 10 years ago and it’s been a huge influence, a real hidden treasure, and a music digger’s paradise. He’s played all around Japan and toured Europe in 2018. He has impeccable taste and just recently published a book titled, “Post-house music disc guide”, which summarizes the dance music of the world that isn’t directly associated with what we know as House music today. Link below.

He’s blessed us with a mix of obscure tracks ranging from psychedelic and folk, to avant-garde. He rides us through the leftfield songs from many ends of interesting world music. It’s a perfect session for listening, getting lost, tapping your foot, and getting lyrics caught in your ear! Thank you again Sanshiro. Enjoy guys!

With this episode, we've transitioned from prerecorded sets to live recordings at Unkompress. For the occasion, we had none other than Millos Kaiser come through for the this installment. Millos represents the rich and culturally diverse sounds of Brazil and plays an array of colorful music. Whether releasing records on @soundway-records or @L-I-E-S, or touring the world playing at wonderful music events like @Dkmntl Selectors and @GopTun, he has a sound signature that’s unique to his own. 05 - Millos Kaiser (São Paulo)

Our next guest comes all the way from Tel Aviv… Omri Cohen. He’s a DJ, music selector, and 1/2 of the duo Haziz (@hazizmusic). He’s also the former manager of Nuweiba record store located in Teder.FM. An eclectic vinyl collector with a love for funk and latin vibes is seen throughout the way he plays. He’s a proper selector and, for this episode, he gets deep with his country's music before getting to a more funky agenda.

Listening Bar Vinyl Sessions w/ Rodriguez: Ambient, Balearic, Jazz

This episode was recorded live during a Friday evening session in late February. Mathis Peckedrath, aka The Intern, is a record collector, curator and producer based in Berlin and Hamburg. He holds high value in our universal language called music and picks a unique selection of tunes each month in his Spotify playlist called „I love my friends“. Playing live has become somewhat of a rare occasion, given he usually is in the studio making music himself these days. When he does though, it’ll be all vinyl and all killer, no filler.
