Every time I make a cover, I want it to sound completely different from the original. Creating a remix from Deathpath’s “Hold On” stems, I had the same goal. Like my own tracks, I wanted the remix to be both weird and appealing. The key was to take the original vocals apart and layer them with effects and my own sound design to give the track an eerie, dissonant feel. As a backdrop for these angelic—now corrupted—voices, I mixed several different basses to add depth and weirdness to the sound. The remix is not clean, it’s not pretty: it’s just the way I like it.

Collaborators on the album include several acts with healthy roots in Gravitas: Cloudchord (formerly D.V.S*), Space Jesus, Of The Trees, and the stunning vocalist Cristina Soto.
