Oh what a journey happend here over the last week..? I always dreamt of a place in Festivals where slow music is appreciated next to all the ecstatic nightstages where Hi-Hats hunt you all night long.. Being trusted by the Skalar-Team to co-create this Downtempo-Place at a Festival where so many friends and creative beings are involved is already special, so co-creating the momets in the early morning hours there on saturday with loved beings made the past days unforgettable for me. It’s a pleasure to share this flowy trip from nightride into sunrise here for the memories. Swedish by passport, interdimensional by vibe — AndArc (@andreasarcombe) delivers a cinematic midtempo journey through the darker shades of the dancefloor.

It’s the kind of set you’d want as the soundtrack to a desert road trip at 3AM, a hazy dancefloor moment, or a sunrise kiss you didn’t see coming. Carefully paced, full of slow builds and story-driven transitions, this mix invites you to let go, lean in, and maybe lose track of time for a while. 

AndArcs playful energy and emotional depth shines through in this mix, which opens with a custom sound collage of vocals and field recordings, setting an intimate and mysterious tone.

🌌  If you were a superhero, what special power would you most like to have?
I’d love to have the power to freeze time for everyone except myself. Just imagine the possibilities! You could stretch out those magic moments on the dancefloor, or hit pause for some quiet in the chaos. Also times fly and some of the moments you want to capture just flies by you.

🦌 What’s your favorite procrastination activity?
Listening to weird, obscure field recordings on YouTube – everything from thunderstorms in the rainforest to the sound of a train station in Tokyo at 4am. Make me calm and if you close your eyes you can almost imagine been in that place also :)

🧊 Did you have any significant realizations in 2024/25 that you’d like to share?
I’ve realized that letting go of control and leaning into spontaneity – both in music and in life – often leads to the most memorable moments. The best sets I’ve played this year have been the ones where I threw away the plan and just went with the energy in the room.

Diesmal bei unlock|me zu Gast: @crispychilli – ein Künstler, dessen Sound genauso bunt und unkonventionell ist wie sein Name. CrispyChilli serviert eine wilde Mischung aus Tech House, Techno und allem, was ihn emotional berührt – mal dreckig, mal verspielt, aber immer mit ordentlich Drive. 🔥 Für ihn ist klar: Ein bisschen verrückt ist völlig normal. 😇
 
Sein Zugang zur elektronischen Szene war geprägt von Eigeninitiative: Gemeinsam mit Freund:innen gründete er den Verein Familie Kunterbunt e.V. in Kaiserslautern – weil es dort schlicht nichts gab, was ihn als Technofan begeistert hat. Anfangs war er hinter den Kulissen aktiv, baute Bühnen, kümmerte sich um Licht und Deko, versorgte später die Crowd mit selbstgemachtem Essen – und war dabei stets mit Herzblut dabei. ❤️
 
Zum Auflegen fand CrispyChilli über einen ganz persönlichen Moment: Nach dem Umzug nach Wien, in eine Stadt, in der er noch keine DJ-Freunde kannte, wurde das Zocken im Wohnzimmer mit Kopfhörern und das Tanzen ganz für sich allein zur größten Freude. Diese intime Verbindung zur Musik legte den Grundstein für seinen Weg an die Decks – erst für sich selbst und schließlich für andere. 🤩
 
Danke CrispyChilli für dieses kraftvolle Set – lebendig, überraschend und genau richtig zum Durchdrehen. Viel Spaß beim Tanzen! 🚀

✔️ What is your musical background?

The old DJ equipment from my good friend Joe Carl in our shared flat and our first DJ-session together.
The energetic tornado of love and pain from Florence (& The Machine) at the Melt Festival.
The live bands in my uncles Irish pub until the glasses were knocked off the shelf by the baselines.
The songs we listened to up and down in the back seat of my mom's VW bus as kids.


✔️ In your opinion, what makes a good afterhour?
Sun, juice and fresh fruits!

✔️ Any thoughts about your mix and your gig?

My overcoming of playing without preparation and watching myself, the people and the atmosphere closely and letting all the vibes help decide which track comes next! Thank you for the combination of 38 degrees, asphalt and no wind Mannheim, I was able to flow in the truest sense.

Hey everyone! Here's the recording of our DJ set at Rebellion der Träumer*'s party in Kater last weekend. We really enjoyed having 3 hours to work our way through several different styles that we're feeling right now. Sometimes a bit deeper, sometimes a bit higher energy, sometimes a bit groovier, but always with the lovely synths and vocals you have probably come to expect from us now!

We had so much fun playing this set so hope you enjoy it too! 

P.S. sorry for the excessive crunch on the filter towards the end of the set, it's way more audible in the recording than it was in the club! But hey, who doesn't enjoy a good distorted snare drum :)
