I suppose it's time to finally put this song to rest.

This track went over far too many versions over the course of... 5 years? The 'prototype' version dates back to 2011 apparently.

Originally this was supposed to be a 'sequel' to another very old track I did about a year before this was made-- but over the course of the years it felt like it strayed off-course and had a life of its own.

Almost everything in this version was actually completed back in 2013. Sadly life happened and I forgot about finishing this track (read: procrastination)-- until now.

So, here it is. I suppose this is a lesson for me to stop nitpicking over every single detail in what I'm currently working in.. and just actually finish it.

Fun fact: The chime sounds were actually sampled from a TEFIFON Hifi music player. This particular sound plays when the end of the tape cartridge has been reached. RESPITE

The first version of this song actually started back in 2012. Like all the other songs I've made, I didn't release it at the time (felt like it wasn't good enough). Three years later I made another version but yet again, I wasn't able to finish it -- I just can't seem to nail that snare sound right.

Another three years had passed and I decided to tinker around with the song again. Funnily enough, I finished the entire thing in a single day.

I should really make finishing things a habit.
