Welcome to your night In The Basement!

I’m really looking forward to sharing with you five hours of my favourite contemporary dance music. Each of the tracks I’ll play tonight excite my body and transport my mind with their groove, personality and atmosphere. I hope you’ll feel them too!

Dance floors to me have often been a place of healing, discovery, exploration and connectivity. When dancing, your mind becomes in sync with your body, and I believe this heightened connectivity is part of why dancing can feel so good.

And of course, being in a room full of people all dancing to the same beat can bring about a feeling of unity and togetherness you don’t often get in everyday spaces. On a dance floor, there are no strangers – only people you haven’t met yet!"

Phew! We made it! The first Personal Space mix post Iso here in Perth took place on a still winters afternoon in the gardens of east freo. After months of minimal gatherings and limited physical social interaction with our dearest friends it was finally deemed safe to give our friends a hug again. Thank you Pete!

"With this mix I invite you to join me for a cozy date in my personal space. In here you can find both warmth and coolness, slumber and arousal. Love, but also loneliness and vulnerability. 
First I’d suggest taking off your shoes and getting comfy. There is a couch here you’ll sink right into, as well as cushions and blankets on the floor if you prefer. In this space we can relax and unwind together, in silence, gazing out the window, listening and feeling as the seasons change from Summer to Autumn, through Winter and Spring.
