Sept 23, 2013 : 151 In Amsterdam!!!

THIS WAS EXACTLY 2 YEARS AGO FROM TODAY (I didnt realize this until the video was uploaded) anyway, CRAZY right??

Matt and I were about to go see Sasha play and decided to get in the mood with drum machines! This was when we lived in Amsterdam and Matt has a fetish for fast techno and the number 151, so guess what BPM this track is in! Not exactly the kind of BPM Sasha plays (at least not since ’95 anyway) but the gig was fun even if it didn’t reach the hardcorededness of our apartment jam…

This was recorded about two years ago in response to a friend of mine that commented that I had gone soft on my techno sound because I released a song that was "Deep House" (you can listen and decide for yourself here: https://soundcloud.com/unofficial/ubo...)

Anyway I whipped out my trusty Korg ER-1 drum synth and ES-1 Sampler and proved that I can still techno, pretty good anyway!

I really love these old Electribes they are limited in such a fantastic and creative way (you cant even change the start and end times of samples non-globally in the sampler, that's kind of a basic function of a sampler??) Basically they make you work for it, make you break rules to get the result you want and don't serve everything to you on a silver platter...

Anyway I wanted to put this up because it was fun and a great showcase of what you can do with just these two machines. Everything recorded into a Zoom H6 which is a great portable little studio.
