Behind the Wheel, released 6/11/21, is the third of the original set that was slated for release in 2020, but delayed due to COVID closures. It highlights the first full-band recording of "Hung in Custody" and the long-anticipated recordings of "Diamonds in Style," a marriage proposal, "It's All Happening," a 70's style dance track and NASCAR inspired "9000 RPM."

Foresight is an overture to the album. He stands in front of a sold-out crowd and sings his final encore foreshadowing the drive he will make across country for his friends unexpected funeral.

Hindsight shows our blues roots and how he only knows the real reasons for his girl leaving him after it happens. Feeling in the Moment is the processing the changes in his relationships and how it feels like the worst thing is actually the right thing. These two songs flow together as one track.

Driving into Arizona, he reminisces about his time on the west coast and how it all fell apart.

He stops in Winslow Arizona for a quick night of restless sleep. Over breakfast he first sees Charlotte who he later picks up hitchhiking.

The son of a railway conductor, the sound of the train is what helped him create the sound for the band and leave his heritage to fulfill his dream of being a rock star.

Walking through downtown he sees homeless Henry begging on the sidewalk. He takes Henry for lunch and gets to know the man and cause of his homelessness. All proceeds from this song go to programs that support homelessness.

Getting together with the old crew they tell stories of their friend who was killed by a drunk driver. What used to be a group of eight friends is now an even seven.

During and after the funeral of their dear friend, they support each other and give credence to staying together.

Driving Charlotte home, they discuss the vital struggle to fulfill their dreams. Underpinning the message is protest for basic freedoms.

Revisiting his ex-girlfriend, with whom he had an explosive breakup, they search for a some reason to get together.

The semi-truck door slams shut, the engine roars to life. Love on the unpaved highway is edgy and fleeting. “I’m inbound going outbound, that’s a clue I’m passing through” shows a deep desire for love but not being able to always stop and give in to the urge, says Eric Nedelman (founder of the San Diego rock band Unpaved Highway). But this is the life I chose and I soon realized that if you can’t love me for who I am, then we can’t be together. It may be a desolate life, but I have to be true to myself.
