"Loefah has changed UK club music forever – several times. His re-imagination of Jungle marked the transition from upbeat “ongibongi” to the halfstep bass-bin tremblers that people commonly associate with Dubstep’s golden era. Take the classic remix of D1’s “Crack Bong” for example, retrieved by Version from dubplate a couple of years back, and you get the picture. Loefah’s own Swamp 81 label, starting in 2009, paved the way for a new generation of producers on the intersection of Techno, House and what he himself coined as “post-dubstep”. A long-lasting collaboration with Orson and Hops emerged in a series of wild mid-week events at OHM 2015-16, bringing artists like Mala, Chunky or Josey Rebelle to our beloved living room. For the final Version of 2023, things come full cycle again: Loefah is back for an exclusive DJ set, his first in Berlin in 6 years."

Preparing to burn a witch in 1544. Witch-hunts are an example of mass behavior fueled by moral panic.
A moral panic is an intense feeling expressed in a population about an issue that appears to threaten the social order.[1] The term first appeared in the English language in 1830 in The Quarterly Christian Spectator. Moral panics are in essence controversies that involve arguments and social tension, and in which disagreement is difficult because the matter at its center is taboo.[2]

The media have long operated as agents of moral indignation, even when they are not consciously engaged in crusading or muckraking. Simply reporting the facts can be enough to generate concern, anxiety or panic.[3]

Esto no es un DJ set, es un viaje sonoro. Un recorrido a través de las primeras manifestaciones del sonido #techno que se mueve entre continentes desde los 90s. Las pistas que se escuchan son, en opinión de Giulia Valenti, las más representativas de las interpretaciones individuales del esquema #4tothefloor . Son los temas que emergieron en escenarios urbanos específicos en un mundo post Guerra Fría y post PC. Desde #detroit hasta Roma, desde el club hasta la Free Party, emergió una revolución sonora que nunca se fue. 📟

UNPROFESSIONAL DJ es el proyecto de Giulia Valenti (@gi.a.k.a.unprofessional ), cineasta y productora musical italiana afincada en Berlín. Su obra se mueve entre los espacios liminales de lo oscuro, lo subcultural y lo popular. Su lenguaje fluctúa entre el ruido, lo subversivo y lo grotesco, y surge de la colisión entre el cine, el dibujo, el sonido y la investigación. Tras haber pasado varios meses en Detroit, Giulia actualmente investiga las expresiones subculturales de la música, la tecnología y los movimientos políticos. 🕹️
