On December 29, acclaimed Northern Ireland and Italy based rock band Unquiet Nights unveil their much anticipated new single ‘Diamond And The Missing Son.’ A track which feels destined to become one of the trio’s crown jewels, the uplifting offering is their first new material since January 2022’s ‘In Spite Of It All’ and is a 24 carat gem that offers fans an enticing taster of their third album ‘Seasons In Exile’, which is set for release next month.

Conjuring up images of latter day Gaslight Anthem and the evergreen sound of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, the spell binding ‘Diamond And The Missing Son’ sees them wrap a radio friendly, crowd pleasing chorus around lyrics which tell a tale of two characters who find themselves entwined with each other.

Powerful, passionate and peppered with soaring, melodic guitars, Unquiet Nights’ singer/guitarist Luke Mathers reveals that their cinematic comeback track serves as a first chapter to a much bigger story involving the intriguingly named Diamond and a man only referred to as The Missing Son and fans can find out more when their third full length Seasons In Exile is released on January 19.

“Sometimes I force myself to try and write songs that aren’t directly about myself, and to just approach the song like it would be a movie,” said Unquiet Nights’ frontman Luke. “The back story of these two characters isn’t fully expanded on in ‘Diamond And The Missing Son’ itself, because of the limitations of a three minute single, so I thought if we were going to release it that I would challenge myself to write the whole third album from the point of view of these two characters.

“This is what our new album ‘Seasons In Exile’ turned into, which was a useful experiment because I’ve ended up getting a lot of songs that definitely wouldn’t have existed without the continuity. The funny thing is that when someone thinks they’re writing fiction, they usually discover it’s the most honest they’ve ever written about themselves. This seems to have happened here.”

Created in their own studio Credential Sound, which the band built themselves, and mixed by Neal Calderwood at the iconic Manor Park in Moneyglass, Northern Ireland, ‘Diamond And The Missing Son’ marks the beginning of an exciting new era for Unquiet Nights.

"GEORGE BEST CITY" is a song by Northern Irish band UNQUIET NIGHTS.  It is the b-side to single "Constellations of She", and was released on 24th January 2015.

The song debuted on BBC Northern Ireland's late show on 21st Jan 2015, and has been played by Amazing Radio UK.  It is perhaps best known as the soundtrack to the last scene of the SKY ITALIA documentary on the life of George Best, titled "Federico Buffa Racconta: George Best", which has aired over 150 times on different SKY Italia channels since the premiere on 7th Feb 2015.

The song is written from singer Luke Mathers' point of view about his home city of Belfast, and constantly travelling in and out of George Best City Airport while pursuing a music career.

Keen to kick off 2018 with a bang, critically acclaimed rockers Unquiet Nights unleash their comeback single 'Promise Of You' on Feb 16 via all digital platforms. Inspired by the universal allure of music and the stories behind the sweat drenched clubs that offer their stages to rising bands, the seeds of the song were first sewn, as ever, on singer/guitarist Luke Mathers' trusty laptop. 

Polished and perfected at Manor Park Studios in Magherafelt, Northern Ireland, 'Promise Of You' sees the Northern Ireland and Italy-bred three-piece more direct and dynamic than ever before. Driven by pounding percussion and bolstered by a stadium-sized chorus, the song is informed and indeed forged by the lessons they've learned from years on the road gigging around Europe. 

Their new single offers fans of Unquiet Nights their first taste of what promises to be a slew of new material over the months ahead. After enjoying some time off after the release of their second album, [2015's Postcards In Real Time'] and its subsequent tour in 2016, the band have now built their own studio and intend to take full advantage of it (in fact, there's another single pencilled in for an April release, plus a third full length record further down the line).

Unquiet Nights are a band from Belfast.  Started as a recording project by Luke Mathers and joined by drummer Rodger Firmin and Francesco Piciucchi on bass & keys, they have carved out a unique sound and toured 9 countries.
