On a pas vécu la guerre, ni la catastrophe nucléaire, on ne s’est pris aucun tsunami pour venir détruire la plage où l’on est né.e, on est ni en famine ni en terrain de mine, on a encore tou.te.s, à quelques personnes près, un appart où crécher, un.e ami.e à engueuler, une connaissance pour nous manquer, un.e ex.e pour nous faire mentalement chier, un amour quelconque contre lequel se réfugier. Mais ce qu’on s’est pris dans la gueule, cette dernière année, c’est le tsunami de nos propres personnes, le champ miné de nos peurs les plus profondes, l’isolement, la solitude, la perte de contrôle la plus totale, la disparition de cette liberté, nous petits fruits d’un certain capitalisme confortable, dont on avait, finalement, jamais mesuré la beauté, l’infinie jouissance, l'incontrôlable course contre la montre, cette excitation divine qui nous flippait autant qu’elle nourrissait nos chemins.

Lose yourself in the circuitry of the original 1965 Buchla 100 with NYZ (Dave Burraston) as he utilizes Barbara Hero's Lambdoma tuning theories to create two slow, deeply layered, subconscious, organic and meditative compositions.

NYZ's split 12" with ELEH will be released at the same time as Millz Medz and both records are available in a first pressing of 500 copies.

David Burraston is an award winning artist/scientist working in the areas of technology and electronic music, operating Noyzelab as an independant art/science music studio since 1981. His experimental arts practice encompasses field recording, landscape-scale sound art, chaos/complexity, practice-based research, sound synthesis and electronic music. He performs, lectures, conducts workshops and creates art installations in Regional NSW and around the world. David also designs and builds sound synthesizers based on his theories of chaos/complexity science. He was recently interviewed by Bandcamp Daily and The Wire Magazine.

David has worked with many diverse collaborators such as Aphex Twin, Chris Watson, Doug Quin, Russell Haswell, Robin Fox, Oren Ambarchi, Sarah Last, Cat Hope, Garry Bradbury, William Barton, Alan Lamb, MIT Media Lab and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. In 2014 he independently published the legendary "SYROBONKERS!", the most technical and in-depth interview ever given by Aphex Twin.

For this episode and for the followings, I wanted to give the floor to some artists I admire and respect a lot. I believe everyone has ideas, a voice, opinions they want to fight for. I believe we can aspire for a better future world through music. Today, I have invited @jaclyn-kendall to record a Mixing for a Cause podcast.

MFC 5 : Jaclyn Kendall - Never a Land Without People

Jaclyn Kendall is is a producer and DJ working within the realms of experimental, techno, industrial, and noise music. Her music aims to blur the defining constituents of particular genres and has heavy overarching art historical and religious/spiritual themes.

She has released music on labels Natural Sciences, Summer Isle, Low Income $quad, Cønjuctø Vaćiø, and Perfect Location Records. She also curated volume I and II of the Palestinian charity compilation, Never a Land Without People, which were released in 2018 and 2020, and plans to announce her own label later this year.

This mix features multiple tracks off vol. II of Never a Land Without People, all profits of the compilation are being donated to Adalah, a grass-roots organization that works to protect the human & legal rights of Arab minorities in Israel.
