Lagoon’s first EP collects four music postcards from the oceanic land of Fuerteventura.
The natural elements shape the music and the visions carried by the voice. Field recordings captured on the island’s journeys and acoustic jams constitute the backbone of the electronic tracks. Memories of waves, wind and volcanoes come back to inspire the lyrics.
Hallucinations from the sun’s heat, contemplations from the coast’s outlines, rituals from the desert’s shades.

“ Vale das Águas-Vivas (Valley of the lively waters) is the sonic embodiement of 5 peculiar dreams, illustrated each by one of the 5 tracks. as an attempt to channel the sounds, textures and feelings conveyed by these subconscious manifestations. Each of the different spaces depicted by the tracks, be-it calm or wavy, shares a common touristic spot, called the “Valley of Lively Waters”. On the B-side, 6 remixes deepen the sonic palette of the dreamy landscapes showcased on the other side. Alon.e dwelves into trancy synths and an IDM/trip-hopish groove for his version of Super Yellow Juice. Le Frit reconstructs Nunca Esperei por Ti. into a low-key, delicate and psychedelic dembow track. H2O gives a new life to Bamboo Flute with a playful version halfways between dub and synthwave. Guillerrrmo, straight from Manaus, member of São Paulo’s Mamba Negra, distorts the same track into a slow and powerful breakbeat heater. Manchester’s Obeka delivers a mesmerizing dancehall remix of Bury me, with Love, inspired by the track’s heady synths. Last but not least, Ditti re-harmonizes Escadarias into a colorful and quirky reinterpretation.

I.U.tA. Ya Na O Ke

Gama is a multidisciplinary artist who adopted a polysemic and enigmatic posture on zir music making as way to express his zir androgynous uncategorizable being. Without words or images, Gama distorts and combine genres, environments and cultures setting up a dream-like patchwork narrative. The music was what first made gama come aboard the Voodoohop spaceship in early 2016, and since then have been exponentially hooked with the group. Gama have also collaborated to audiovisual productions, installations, such as VJ Suave’s virtual reality installation: "The essential is invisible to the eyes” and is currently investigating collective creation and performance art. Gama has just released "Microscopic Cookbook" on Chill Mountain Rec, from Japan.

Umeko Ando’s “Ihunke” hits right in the heart. This summer, we received enthusiastic responses to the “Ihunke” vinyl re-issue from all over the planet. So we invited a group of great international producers to remix the repetitive, mantric vibes of Umeko Ando’s Ainu folklore songs. It comes as a vinyl EP with six remixes and as an 11-track digital package.

Kalim & Marim is an EP about music, no big story behind it except passion for sound textures and audio travelling...
Recorded in 2019 and 2020, it includes many instruments, from many loops of Kalimba & Marimba (That gave the name to the EP), to guitars, bass guitars, percussions of all types, clarinet by Walass, random samples and synthesizers.

Da Iguana: 
«Glassy and woody textures are emphasized, recalling waters and forests, my favorite environments. For the funny story Leu Grouve was recorded on Walass’s studio, in a houseboat on La Garonne river in Bordeaux, France, really close to the water surface, hearing droplets and seagulls while the sun was setting. A magical moment we spent jamming with anything we could use in the small studio!! It’s also one of my first works going up in BPM throughout the track (from 85-86 to 100BPM).
Ambiantik is obviously an ambient track, cosy and organically textured, mixing ancient instruments from different parts of the world (ambient + antique).
Moa Tren will take you on an intercontinental aerial train, with mouth blown percussions and cloudy atmospheres.
At last Kalim & Marim is a swingy tune, super innocent, with a happy mood I am not so used too.»

The release incl two remixes from our beloved friends who added their recognizable sound — Ohxalá made Leu Grouve even more groove and dance, and MAUGLI give a deep slowly instrumental version of the Moa Tren.

𝗬 𝗕Ü𝗟𝗕Ü𝗟 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝘀: "𝗔𝗹𝗼?“

⁣The Turkish born, London based artist takes our hearts in a storm with his debut album FEVER. Out in late autumn, we now unveil the first track and pre-order. 

When Yiğit Bülbül knocked on our door and put his debut album on the table, Fever took our hearts in a storm. The Turkish born, London based musician and producer knows how to craft his own contemporary avant-garde pop projections with a rich musical heritage shining through from the 1980s and 90s. His style erupts into silly, absurd moments of synth blurps, percussive extravaganza and psyched horns, It’s always colourful and trippy, but in a light way. It’s exactly what we want to release in a year of distress.

The album is framed by two contemplative tracks, which are reminiscent of Holger Czukay’s oeuvre. The saxophone in the opening track "The Heath" undulates like an introvert leading voice in a meditation. The long and meticulously crafted ambient outro "Txalaparta" features a spoken word sample by the Basque folk musician Txomin Artola from 1978. The four tracks at the heart of the album are beat driven, percussion-heavy, loaded with synths and random horn samples. "Alo?" sounds like Snakefinger tries to get on a Skype call with Serge Gainsbourg. "Cacti All Over My Head" could well be a Ween instrumental with long arching synth lines over a slowed down bossa nova beat.

Fever is a frivolous album which bursts with exalted charm and guest musicians. This is not another greetings-from-the-lockdown album, but with the obvious reference in the title it’s almost a tongue-in-cheek name about creative obsessions of our times.
It's the debut album by the multi-instrumentalist Y Bülbül who has learned his trade working with various interesting artists and bands in London in the past 10 years. He is also a passionate crate digger and DJ. His own radio show is unerringly titled "Bülbül's Gemüsement Park", which airs on Netil Radio, a community broadcasting station in Hackney.

Bonus fact, Bülbül is the Turkish name for a brown-eared passerine bird, one that's into singing.
